Longer than a week for a loan application - is this normal?

Just wondering if there's some sort of huge delays with small loan applications? Applied last Monday and really thought I would be done and dusted in a few days.

Can take up to 1 month if approved before you have the loan money. It is NOT a fast process and takes weeks. Not a chance of just a few days. Change expectations or bank.

I'm with AIB and can get instant loan since 2014. As much as there is no great bank in Ireland for tech/efficiency, you have chosen to give your custom to the worst bank, so these are the consequences.

Yeah, it's been about 2 weeks now, and I'm giving up and applying elsewhere. Doesn't seem like this is good for anyone, really: annoyed customers and the bank has to go through the motions for loan approval checks.
