I bought a petrol power washer about 5 years ago, it's a Lifan 3000 PSI 3.0gpm and I would only use it a few times a year. It cost me about 850 The problem is that it never starts when I want it as it is used so little.

How much would I pay for an equivalent electric power washer.

I'm not interested in a tractor power washer tbh

Probably water in the sediment bowl, it's usually the case if a 4 stoke is not starting

Used to have diesel ones, for heat. Tried petrol ones broke my heart. This one is good, got them to put a blue safety plug and deliver it for free....

Do you run that off a standard plug? At 3.2kw it must need a 16 amp fuse?

Although kranzle is an excellent washer, the performance will be substantially lower than the OPs petrol washer

Not sure what size fuse it works off tbh. Never had an issue with it that way. Plenty powerful for what I want it to do. Cleaning out sheds, washing down machinery etc.

You could try using something like aspen 4. There's other brands available too.

It's very expensive but if you're not using the washer much it could help, maybe use it for the last fill if doing a big day's washing.

I use Aspen 2 in a couple of 2 stroke engines like the strimmers and never any problem to start them. Ordinary petrol left sitting in the tank for long periods will make it a nightmare to start.

Alternatively drain the tank after using and put in fresh petrol each time you use it.

On the kranzle washer. Would you recommend the one with suction hose or the feed off a hose.

My understanding is a pressure washer with a suction hose can also be fed directly off a hose, but not the other way round; therefore the suction hose model gives more flexibility.

To feed directly off a hose you need good flow rate, at home with half inch pipes it won't work as the flow and pressure is too low. Elsewhere I use a kranzle that is fed off a hose with 8 bar pressure, this greatly improves the performance of the washer as the pressure is added to the pressure generated by the washer.

I've never used an electric washer that comes anywhere close to a decent petrol or PTO washer. I think it would have to be 3 phase to have the same power. An electric one is fine for washing a parlour or machinery, but for cleaning slats/cubicles or calf pens it is no substitute for a petrol/PTO one.

Honda engined 3000psi washer here. It could sit for 4 months and start on a few pulls. It’s 11 or so years old now and never gave trouble.

I bought a katcher one a couple of years ago and it’s given up already. Very disappointed. There’s a local guy who sells the power washer you mentioned. The only thing putting me off was the price. Good to hear you have a good experience with it.

Not fussed on electric power washers. I nearly met my maker as a 10 year old unplugging one. I can still remember the feeling of the zap. My dad must have gotten a fright as it was never used again and an engine one was bought fairly soon afterwards. Engine is a much better job too and can be used in all locations - electric one limits you to whereever is the power source.

I have a Kranzle electric and happy with it. Water pressure is low in one shed so have to use a plastic barrel up high, with butt connection to feed it.

Kranzke here as well bought it about 12 months ago. Paid 990 I think for it. It was the 2160 model that Whelan linked with no hose roller on it. As far as I know.

Just one thing to be aware if USE IN THE FLAT as opposed to standing up otherwise the water pump will go. That was the advice the lad I bought it off gave me anyway. I think this is why a lot of cheaper one go faulty as well you always see photos of them standing up when they should be on the flat.

Similar to Patsy it works grand off the hose at home but on the farm I have to use a barrell.

There is a rotating head that comes as standard on the model I got its a dinger to clean the cattlebox or patio slabs. I intend to buy a longer lance for working on stuff up high.

i bought one a few days ago, with a hose reel. €1150 😬

didn’t realise about keeping it horizontal until I read the book with it.

used it over the weekend and very impressed with it. Feels a lot more solid than the karcher and the unit itself is a lot heavier.

its expensive but I’m hoping it’s nearly a job for life. The guy who sold it, who’s local, said he’s still doing small repairs on machines he sold 25 years ago

We have a kranzle 122 for machinery and the odd bit of concrete work but we use the pto washer for the bigger jobs.the kranzle is a nice size for machinery and its just a case of flicking the switch when you want to wash something

What precautions does everyone take to protect powerwashers in freezing temperatures, like we had recently? I’m almost certain that I once heard that running anti freeze through them is not advisable. Has anyone else heard that? I just kept mine covered with old coats and stuff, in the shed….

When you are finished using them disconnect hose/ water supply and empty them by keeping trigger on lance pressed
