advice on xmas LC revision courses

Hi, Im looking at an xmas Levaing Cert course for two subjects for my son. Each subject is covered in 1.5 hrs. Its hard to see what could be covered in that time. Is it simply a case of throwing notes at them? Has anyone any experience of these intensive courses?
