    Hi,

looking for advice on a mouldy bathroom.

My brother rents an apartment and there is mould in the corners of the room. There in an air vent and window, both of which are always open but it doesn’t do the job. Electric shower used daily, twice some days. Puts the heating on a fair bit also.

He washes the mould off and repaints every year but looking for a long term fix. Is an extractor fan the only option to eliminate the mould?

he has an extremely sound landlord who hasn’t upped the rent in 12 years and never takes rent in Dec as a Christmas gift.

If fan is the right option, how much would it cost? Brother happy to sort himself if only a few hundred.

He’s asked 2 electricians to call out to prove a fan but both were no shows.

    any advice welcome, thanks.

The landlord sounds like a decent chap, anything structural on a rented property is really his responsibility. I'd ask him to organise getting a fan fitted to reduce the amount of condensation and mould.
