I've got the "Eufy" cameras... would recommend them.

Need to charge battery every two months or so.

I got the ieGeek 2k wireless camera off Amazon for 60 euro about 6 months back and it has done a great job so far. I think they are sold under several different brand names but Im happy with it. The charge lasted 90 days, you log in via an app, has a motion sensor spotlight, has two way audio, has an alarm. I just put an SD card in and it records every time somebody walks past. Think you can use cloud storage too. It then sends a notification to your phone so you can check and see who is there live and even talk into it.

I have them in the house are they are excellent. without the subscription you can only view the live image of a camera and it will not save any motion alerts.

I have a blink camera. They take too long for the live feed to kick in. By the time you have the alert & logged into the app the person is walking away so it's useless for the 2 way feature. Minimum of a 10 second lag

I have Arlo Essential cameras. 3 of them set up and working very well. I think the camera is about €120 and then €3 per month for the cloud service.

Similar to above they are not good for 2 way but great for security. You can set activity zones to trigger as well.

Probably not the best in market but good enough for what we need.

I have the EufyCam 2C. The kit came with the home base and 2 cameras. It can support possibly 10/15 in total. I think they are excellent. The battery life is very good, the resolution is decent. There is a spotlight function (albeit small) and a speaker setting on the cameras as well. You could also link up the eufy door cam to them.

No subscription service needed, but it is available.

The only downside is I found connecting over the wifi and maintaining a steady signal between the homebase and the camera to be haphazard enough. I think the insulation in the house may have interfered with the signal.

Is that down to your internet strength or speed maybe. Both my cams consistently take about 3 - 4 seconds to access the live feed.

The blink cams arent perfect but if your looking for a very affordable solution for keeping an eye on your house without the hassle of wires

they are brilliant. They are not gona be as good as more expensive systems obviously but for 40 - 50 quid for a camera you cant

really expect them to be.

Battery is fairly good to be honest. I have activity zones set up, so only records when something moves in that zone, and on a schedule, so only triggers at night. I probably get a 6-8 weeks per charge. It might be more. Initially when I got the camera I was messing with it more and battery was less, but usage has settled down now.

No local storage. Cloud is €3 per camera.

Support has been good, I had a problem and they sent me a new camera without having to send back the old.

App is good.

I have shared access to the cameras with my wife also, so she can use the app on her phone. And all set up in google home as well.

I've the app ( no signon fee or subscription). Recordings are stored on the homebase, I do not have any zones set.

The reolink POE cameras are fairly good and the SD card slot negates the need for a DVR. I have 2 of them up at the moment and will be adding at least 1 more.

I got 6 of these. No subscription needed unless you want to save stuff long term. I think it saves for a week. You can let it fall off the end of the period or just download it to your pc if you want to keep it.

Has a live feed. Cant remember if it has an SD slot. If it does i dont use it. When you get a notification you look and can save it if you want. I think its the last 7 days that stay, but tbh apart from the first week playing with them Ive never had to go back more than a day. And having used them for a year now, i dont actually see any use case where you would need to record all your CCTV anyway. You only need to keep what triggered it after you get a notification of an event you want to keep. You can go back to whatever time in the last week you want though and export that.

I just bought the Eufy L40. Great so far, it has a light built in and records in 2k with sound when it detects a human. You can record in night vision if you want but i have it pointing on our driveway so the light kicks in and it then records to the sd card stored on board.

Live viewing on the app with a mic for talking and no subscription.

1 week in and the battery is at 93%.

Yeah you can view it live. You can definitely download recordings. Ive never set zones. You could ask on amazon. Battery lasts about 3 or 4 months. I usually go and stick a battery pack into them to charge them instead of taking them in. Hope i dont leave it out when its raining some time :) I believe you can also get a little solar panel that charges them.

Haven't had any issues with having to pay duty when getting good from amazon as long as it's from amazon and not one where you have to pay €15+ post

I'd steer clear of Iegeek, I've had the wired ones for a few years and they last about a year, I've also noticed in the last year the quality of the picture and sound has dropped. The reviews may be good but if someone has an issue they contact directly bypassing amazon which is against rules and offer a partial refund. The refund is then given on the 2nd email with the condition you delete your bad review or change it to a 5 star.

Remember if getting solar panel ones, the length and brightness of the day will greatly affect the charge on the battery. I would also think that constant live streaming would also drain the battery quicker.

If using a pc to record, ask if it works with HiP2P client "Free software" that allows for area's to monitor, sensitivity and scheduling.

im.told the batteries in.the Eufy and most battery charged cameras are not replaceable so after a few years when battery goes bad you throw awat camera.

Hey folks, I'm looking into this for somebody and they live in a town house with people walking right by their front door regularly. As mentioned earlier in the thread Reolink doorbell is a great kit for the price - can set alert areas or person detection or just visitor alert (i.e. someone presses the doorbell and you can talk to them (pretty much instant alert) or use a preset response. Have the POE version and works great (as I have the PVR) and has a great app to go with it

Thanks for that, but it's for a rented accommodation so they don't really want to drill through the walls to wire it, so the battery powered Eufy seems better in this regard. They also want a camera for the rear of the house so I think it may be more practical to have them set up to the homebase system of the Eufy.

Would be nice if the Reolink was battery powered and had a simple camera for the rear of the house to go with it for a cheaper price.
