When is the next review of the world rankings?

Seems like it is a mess at the moment where players who haven played in 18 months have a bigger strokes gained than someone in form. Steve Stricker prime example

This weeks DP Final ranking has lower points than pga tour even though stronger field in dubai.

It was reviewed and a new methodology for ranking points introduced during this Summer, doubt they will go back at it again any time soon

It only just changed in the last few months so doubt they'll be looking at it again soon. DP tour is just the feeder tour now so can't expect it to have the same ranking points as the main tour. Awful system if you ask me but that's what Pelley has signed up for.

The Strokes Gained system is definitely broken. I have seen several examples posted online of that ranking consistently improving for players who have stopped playing in OWGR events. Steve Stricker was one of those examples.

Everybody may not agree with it, but there is a certain logic to the DP Tour having fewer points on offer this week than the PGA Tour. It probably is harder to win a 156 player event than a 50 player event, even if the smaller field has a few more elite players.

The same thing happened with the final FedEx event. That had only 30 players so there was fewer world ranking points for the winner than a regular tour event.

It is a good thing that the Majors aren't ranked the same or the Masters might have also have significantly reduced points on offer.

Thee was a superb thread on twitter about this. Basically the new system penalises the DP World Tour for the very top places but equally rewards the lower placings when compared to an PGA Tour tournament.
