Hello everybody. I thought I would post about my collection that I am selling. I am cheesebob off of adverts.ie and I have of course listed a lot on adverts but it will take a while to list it all so I am posting this here so that you can have a look at the entire list of stuff I am selling. I mainly am selling consoles but I do have some rare games too. I am selling All This because I am going to focus on games for certain consoles more so than consoles and am keeping the stuff related to that. Almost all of it is in extremely good condition and complete. Anybody who is seriously interested can let me know and I can pictures no problem. Anybody who is after the link to the full list let me know as it won’t let me post the link.

Some cracking consoles etc listed there. I'd love the FM Towns Marty and the 64DD but reality kinda gets in the way. Good luck with the sales, though I suspect you might have difficulty getting value from Adverts, and you might be better expanding onto eBay etc for stuff of this level.

Interesting that you're focusing on games, I've gone the opposite way. A few years ago I completely burned out collecting, and it was because of games, all the games! I'd lists of games I had, needed and wanted, and it became a serious chore....of course I played nothing.

I've gotten back into it recently, but I'm focusing almost exclusively on hardware, that's where my love for collecting always was. Ode's and everdrives will allow me to enjoy the hardware (and games obviously).

It’s a great collection you’re selling! I’m currently trying to normalise the concept of the Sharp Super Famicom TV with my wife.

Have her watch this, problem sorted...

(Also, interesting to see Nintendo's scarcity 'problem' was happening as far back as then too)

Off topic but the scarcity thing with Nintendo isn't them trying to create demand, it's that they have historically been against wasting money on warehouse storage costs so try to manufacture only enough to meet demand which then leads to scarcity when they under estimate demand.

I'd buy into that a bit more if it wasn't 30+ years happening. Their demand predictions are almost always way way off.

It's a business practice philosophy they've been using for 100+ years. It reduces warehouse fees but also keeps the value of their goods up. As opposed to the likes of Ubisoft that spend a lot on warehousing fees and the price of their stock bottoms out in weeks so they can shift stock to get them out of the warehouse.

It can cause issues but this is why they do it. There's a lot of anti-Nintendo sentiments recently from the Sony defense force that's now been spread as gospel that it's like Disney's VHS 'vault' when it's really not. Unlike Disney who manufactured scarcity for Nintendo if there's a market there they will release more stock to fill it. Just look at the initial amiibo launch, they released more stock to fill the void on the harder to find figures and they do the same with games they under produce..

It's a **** practice, because in the face of clear evidence of high demand, people end up having to line the pockets of scalpers. A company with the budget of a small country, skimping on warehousing? You may be right, but I've a hard time feeling the scarcity always has a needless artificial feel to it...and conveniently always puts the Nintendo brand in headlines as a result.
