Trying to Understand My Income Tax

    Hi,

I've gone through the forum (and will continue to search),but looking for help on understanding how I'm being taxed.

I live in Ireland with my wife (having moved here from South Africa). We live on a single income (mine).

Everything I check points to tax credits of 3,400 credits (married person/civil partner), although I am only granted 1,700, seeing as Revenue has me as a single person.

Also, for some reason Revenue is taxing me at Band 1 (36,800) instead of 45,800 (again, because I am married single income).

What am I missing? Do I need to apply for a specific update of my tax residence/civil status?
