Hi all, The AutoSave Draft feature is now disabled across the site. The decision to disable the feature was made via a poll last year. The delay in putting it in place was due to a bug/update issue. This should serve as a reminder to manually save your drafts if you wish to keep them. Thanks, The Boards Team.

Mars has a fresh crater that was detected independently by the NASA Insight lander.

The 150 metre wide crater on Mars in the image above was blasted out by a meteor in December 2021 and detected by the NASA Insight Mars seismic lander.

The high resolution image taken was by the NASA Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. Note the subsurface ice blasted onto the surface by the impact.

The Insight mission, activecsince landing on Mars in late 2018 is estimated to only have enough power remaining for 6 to 8 weeks of operation. It has detected around 1,200 marsquakes.
