I heard of it alright, but from reading about it on other forums I got the impression that it wasn't very effective. When you think of it the size of a .22wmr casing and then add in a wad and a lead pellets... seems to have a max range of about 20ft which is 6metres.

20 feet would be more than sufficient for me. Surely someone with it.

What are you going to use it for if you don't mind me asking

    MT

A 0.22 loaded with ( #12 pellet shot), better known as a garden gun and or snake and rat shot, drops in power within a few yards and becomes pretty much worthless beyond 10-12 feet.

Effective lethal range is more like 5-8 feet.

A 410 bore cartridge loaded with #10 or #12 pellets is effective for greater range ( 10 to 15 yards, maybe up to 20 yards on very small targets).

One has to pretty much roll your own in the 26.

    Good luck

I don't have a rifle suitable to shoot mink I catch in traps anymore so use the shotgun.I use trap cartridges at 20-25 yards and they don't damage cage but will kill mink instantly.Just make sure of backstop and wear a pair of shooting glasses, even though I never had a pellet come back at me I put glasses on.

The very small bird shot would be a lot more convenient.

True but it's an option if you're stuck. How are you dispatching them at the moment.

.410 gauge. I have to pull the cage with the mink on to the field and then dispatch it.
