2014 audi a4 tdi fault

    sometimes it lose power while driving, then slows down and cuts completely out,

    its starts again in a bit and drives fine but you never know when its going to happen again

    no lights come on dash it just slows down and conks out

    Clogged fuel filter maybe, do you know when it was last replaced?

    Could be a stuck open EGR?

    Crank sensor?

    Any other symptoms? rough idle, anything other than smooth acceleration i.e "bucking" or "chugging" along for a second while increasing speed?

    Sounds like its going into limp home mode.

    Could be a mass air flow sensor.

    The father had a passat that did the exact same thing . Driven hard it, power cut out , into limp home mode,stop and start car would reset it, no engine management lights on eithre

    When was it last serviced? When was the diesel filter last changed? Is it completely random or can you recreate the fault, hard acceleration etc?
