relevant tax year for jobseekers question

sorry if asked already, but been on jobseekers recently, hopefully for not much longer. only figured out why i was on a lower rate than i thought i should. relevant tax year is 2020 when covid hit. i was working as an so-called essential worker but wasn't exactly a normal work year and earned lower than i had in 2019 & did in 2021. both times i'd be in the normal full rate of it

anyone had any experience with a similar situation? is there any point trying to make that case for that using previous & following years or is it just tough luck?

If you applied for jobseekers benefit in 2022 then the relevant tax year is 2020. They only go to the previous years If you do not have 13 paid contributions in the relevant tax year, you do, it’s not applicable in your case.

yeah thought so, just shíte luck so, another crap think about working through covid full lockdowns has come back to bite me in the ass
