Fuse box humming and storage heater not working

Hi there,

My fuse box started humming a few days ago and I noticed when I turned the storage heater switch off it would stop. I kept the storage heater switch off for a day, and when I turned it back on I noticed the storage heaters aren’t charging up at night.

I can still switch them on myself but I wonder why the night time charge option isn’t working. Would anyone have an idea?

Something is not right when you hear humming from a fusebox. Knock off all electrical appliances then look at the ESB meter to see if the wheel is flying round. if it is then your gonna end up with a massive ESB bill.

The humming sounds like you have a circuit breaker getting overloaded.

Get an Electrician out ASAP

It'll more than likely be a contactor humming obviously or maybe not actually, probably nothing extreme happening with electricity usage

Hard to know the ops problem without more info
