I'm nearly happier with wards points than madissons as more unexpected ha, decent end to an average wc

Ward getting a bonus point is the funniest sh1t Ive seen so far this season. He conceded 22 goals in 7 games and the first time I play him he gets a clean sheet while Pope blanked. And Maddison 2 games of ownership and he's delivered 22 points, he is red hot form and his next four fixtures are sweet. About time that £8m midfield slot worked out, I had been through nothing but weeks of blanks in that position from Mount and Luis Diaz before getting Maddison in.

Great week, 96 all out and a green arrow to 22k. Over the moon with that given I wasnt on the Foden or Trossard hat tricks.

101 for the week I forgot to finalise my team (would only have meant an extra 5 points TBF), so delighted with that. Included a Mitrozilch as well!

    70 points.

Really stuck in the mud. Captained Salah, 5 players booked, Mitro injured. Hovering around the 3m mark.

Completely forgot there was a game on tonight.

Transferred out Kulusevski on Friday and couldnt decide between Trossard or Maddison. Went with Maddison and was sickened when Trossard got 20 points. Thrilled with Maddisons haul, only 2 points in the difference.

103 for the week, absolutely delighted. I think its my first time breaking 100 in a single gameweek (might have happened on a DGW before but I cannot remember)

    😁😆🤣

Would be still tempted by him if Mitro is out for a bit. Even if he doesn't start, the fixtures are so good there could be vulture points in it for him as a sub like tonight.

Gonna finish on 99. Delighted, but also gutted lol

Ben Mee and Ward laughing at me from the bench!

100 for the week and a nice fat green arrow into 95k :)

I've had Ward from the very beginning but this is the first GW I've started him and he does that. Feel like prime Sir Alex Ferguson right now lol

90 all out Definitely HEWT considering I was on 18 from 8 Saturday evening Captain Erling

KDB and Maddison the heroes. Had too much faith in Mitrovic and left Trippier on the bench

Didn’t think I would make the tonne after 20 points on Saturday night and raging that I transferred out Bowen. Not often you gain 4 points on a transfer when the lad you transfer out scores 14 points. Up 700k to 453k and delighted.

I also kept the Wildcard and that paid off as well.

Some great scores here lads well done, loads of ye hit the ton and above.

Talk about a mental gameweek, I had a game week rank of around 8 million at 7.30pm on Saturday and it looked like a disaster of a week but it was 450k by the end of the Leicester game last night, mad stuff

Currently 2.9m OR and contemplating deleting my team and coming back next year after a horror show this GW, completely self inflicted.

My DM's are open if you want to vent 😂

Im having the same type season... havent finished outside 100k in 5/6 years and now looking like top million will be an achievement

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,908 ✭✭✭claw

89 brings me up to 671k from just inside the 1 million mark. That despite taking out Martinelli and Jesus to prepare for their blank with City. Still have my wildcard in play so can't complain!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,672 ✭✭✭ElTel

88 this week and OR 3M

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,099 ✭✭✭✭Cartman78

    Same.

Mired at 2.2m ...took a "gamble" on Captaining Salah this GW on the assumptions that a) United would keep the score down b) Liverpool would find some form after the break.

Also embarrassingly adrift in money leagues and even the flupping work league.

    Hard times

A big captain score can change that. Maddison changed my GW, but almost singlehandedly changed my mentality this year as he has dragged me back to around 1M rank so I'm not giving up yet. I went against Haaland, but own Haaland so it somewhat limits the risk. If Haaland 'only' scores 1, low bonus while you don't captain him, but your captain scores 2 and a couple bonus, you've ground made up.

Still early days, and you have at least 2 WCs left, possibly 3, plus a couple chips.

For those ranked around 2 million there are only 62 points between that rank and the top 100k, it is not over by a long shot. Dont forget that come GW16 you have a free wildcard during the World Cup and an opportunity for a total reset with all the available information.

And plenty of double game weeks to come in the new year as well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 665 ✭✭✭joeyboy11

    Wise words.

I started the gw at 630k and after captaining Salah and not haaland or not owning Kdb, after the city - united game I had a huge red arrow down to 1.3 mill.

Having Maddison and ward left I didn’t even bother check the Leicester score until going to bed Monday night and got a surprise 26 points to give me a small green arrow to 600k. Still kicking myself not captaining haaland but at least it wasn’t a total disaster in the end.

It shows how your only a few good decisions from getting back up the rankings.

Still too early to be looking at Rank, I would estimate you are on around 470 points? 20 points moves you to into top 2 million, that should be your first target, you are only 40 points from the top million - very doable in a few weeks, especially with the GW12 etc. coming and many of the top million will have used multiple chips. You are less than 60 points away from the top 500k and 80 points from top 100k which is your end of season target - 80 points in 29 GW's where chip management, fixture planning etc (in other words the stuff your good at with that record) will all be vital is not unreasonable at all and very doable. I have gone from 1.4m in GW6 to inside the top 500k right now, and to be honest without doing anything overly great.

LOL I see that Muahahaha goth there before me

Wise words indeed, I suppose FPL is so much about luck but also so much about discipline too.

I was all set on Friday night to make 1 transfer and carry on captaining Haaland.

Saturday morning I got it into my head that bringing Salah in and captaining him could've seen me shoot up the ranks (1.2 OR at that time) even taking the hit into consideration. Found the start of the season to be rather monotonous with Haaland so fancied the risk.

In hindsight, staying with the pack is best until prob the WC which means being sensible and continuing to captain Haaland and have a decent VC each week if/when he gets rested. As many have said above, when the chips come into play, the real fun happens and a good strategy to go by. Certainly not gambling on Salah and hoping the most in form player in the world right now has an off day! 😁

Will be a fun ride to try break top 100k this season all the same 🙌

FPL wise @[Deleted User] no. Any you would recommend?

I read quite a lot FPL wise, plenty matches but never podcast. Do you feel it's quite beneficial?

    No I wouldn’t recommend any.

Your line - ‘I was all set on Friday night to make 1 transfer and carry on captaining Haaland.

Saturday morning I got it into my head that bringing Salah in and captaining him could've seen me shoot up the ranks’ , stuck out to me as someone who had been influenced.

The only podcast I listen to pre gameweek is the FFS team/injury update which is usually the day the gameweek starts.

I will occasionally listen to some podcasts but only when they’re a week old so they don’t influence me.

I definitely noticed in the past that when I was overexposed to information that it interfered with my decision making so I definitely try to avoid it now.

I was just hoping you weren’t making the same mistake but doesn’t sound like you are.

I was influenced by my wicked alter ego who felt Salah would be a nice differential!! A moment of madness I suppose is all I could put it down to.

My thinking on Sat morning as I looked back on posts was FPL has become quite monotonous so fancied a bit of a risk. Salah at home to Brighton albeit after a poor start felt to me like a nice comeback for him to bag a couple. Even Pool scoring 3, I fancied Salah to get at least one, should've known better after the 9-0 Bournemouth win. Re City and Haaland, I simply didn't expect United to be so poor and concede 6.

    Live and learn!
