Refugee accommodation pledge

    Six months after pledging 2 rooms for refugees in our home they are still empty!

    We made our pledge through the Red Cross and finally in late June they finally contacted us re Garda vetting, completed in two days.

    In August a coordinator with the county council told us our details were forwarded to IOM. Finally last week IOM make first contact looking for Garda vetting!!

    I know of 4 other couples in the same position and know nobody who are hosting refugees.

    Meanwhile nursing homes are closing their business to house refugees because they can make easy money?
