Just found out these things exist😮

    Where can they be got?

seems like they should be a cheaper alternative?

They are just the ordinary 70mm cartridges.

It's not easy to get the 2" ones.

No, They are 1 and three quarter inch, yet similar to 2 and three quarter

Doubt they'd be cheaper as there isn't the cost savings afforded by volume.

First they came for the socialists...

I don't understand what type you are referring to then

1 3/4" as in the title is 70mm.

Apart from some 67mm ones that is the dead common size

They will not be cheaper than 12 bore shells. For some time 20 bore cartridges were significantly more expensive than 12 more cartridges.

Now as the popularity of them 20 bore has increased the volume of cartridges, the run time in the factory is longer, less time setting up.

For comparison look at the price of 410 or 16 bore cartridges. Someone I know recently bought a slab (250) 410,s. Cost ? €95, my slab of 32grm 12,s cost me €85.

Dunno if those "mini-shells" come in much except slugs.

Bit of a fad over in the USA for "home defense" use.

You need an adaptor for your semi or pump, and then you need to take it out to dhoot 2 3/4 shells.

Instead of 8 regular shells in your Mossberg 500 with the full lenght magazine tube, you can get 13 of these mini-shells to fit.

All immaterial for Ireland, slugs and longer magazine tubes need a "restricted" licence here.
