Let’s go for round 7, very pickable games. If I get anything less than 10/14 I will eat my hat.

Will the 2 NY teams win again this wknd away to Jags and Broncos??

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,134 ✭✭✭cosatron

yes. I know green bay were poor in both games and were very unlucky with a few things, but the run game of both teams was very impressive and both dlines are very good. Quinnen Williams was very impressive for the jets.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,967 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Well the Jets are very good rushing in the red zone. Broncos are not that strong against the run. The question is how many times will the Jets make the red zone?

They only need about 20 points to win the game as the Broncos offense is horrendous and even worse is that they will be playing with a very limited Russell Wilson if he makes it. He won't be running anywhere with the ball and his offensive line is not that good. The only good thing for them is rookie tight end Greg Dulcich and went straight in as starter and looked very good.

I think the Jets get it done.

The Giants are incredible on the ground and the Jags are incredible defending the run. The Jags are very good on the ground and the Giants are not so good defending it.

The Giants are very short at WR with so many starters injured. It looks a likely Jags win to me.

It's working out at 26-23 Saints for me. Likely three touchdowns for the Saints with two through the air and one on the ground. Cards to score two TDs, one through the air and one on the ground.

The above is maths based taking averages and previous matchups into consideration.

I don't think the cards will score a rushing td unless it's Murray, Benjamin is not that great at the goal line so its more likely two receiving TDs I think.

I like Kamara and Hopkins to score is a fair possibility.

Great Sunday night game. Dolphins looked like they were going to destroy the Steeler early but Pittsburgh fought their way back into it but lost by six points. I don't think there was any score in the second half but it was thoroughly entertaining all the way.

Kenny Pickett is improving and Tua had a very good game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,424 ✭✭✭✭The_Kew_Tour

Steelers gave us a tough night but on balance of play I think Dolphin's deserved the win.

After three straight loses result tonight was what counted most. Lot if work still to do though

Nobody can get 14/14, not even me. What is happening with the Bucs and the mighty Packers??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,967 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Looking forward to watching my Patriots tonight. Mac Jones back under center with a firmly burning fire under his backside with the performances of Bailey Zappe in his absence.

We have an offense that's taking shape rather quickly now with Thornton breaking out last week to give us four good options at receiver and our tight ends starting to look good as well and then the two headed monster of Harris and Stevenson in the backfield. A win tonight puts us over .500 and there's lots of reasons to be positive if that happens.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,967 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Awful start for the Patriots, 10-0 down at the end of the first quarter and Mac just threw an int. Crowd were shouting for Zappe earlier, I think those chants are going to get a bit louder after that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,967 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Bailey Zappe got in on the next drive and......the Patriots score a td. 10-7 Bears.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,369 ✭✭✭✭Oat23

Matt Patricia sabotaging Mac Jones isn't surprising given what he got up to in Detroit.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,967 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Patricia can't do anything about him throwing interceptions. And if he's at fault for Jones then he's to get credit for Zappe obviously.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,369 ✭✭✭✭Oat23

The INT was 100% on Jones. Awful decision. But the playcalling before that was so suspect. Patricia is well aware of what works with Jones and he almost went out of his way to try to make him do the things the Pats went out of their way to avoid asking him to do last year.

Zappe comes in and suddenly Patricia is calling quick short passes to get him into a groove and scheming receivers open for him.

You must be watching a different game to me, Jones had similar opportunities before the pick but wasn't able to do anything. There's something wrong with Mac, he's just off at the moment. He's thrown six ints this season and most of them were bad ones.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,369 ✭✭✭✭Oat23

Blowing the Patriots out in primetime like it's 1986.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,967 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

I'd love to know how much time the Patriots D were on the field in the second half.

Only 9/14, another terrible round. Fu£k U Patriots, Jaguars, Bucs, Chargers and the mighty Packers.

  • Registered Users Posts: 320 ✭✭collybyrne

10-4 takes me to 64-44 on the season.

Some big upsets there alright but I suppose they all felt like they were coming in a way. Bucs and Packers have been shaky at best up to now so well done Panthers and Commanders for not playing the reputations and just playing what was in front of them. I know the Bucs Offence has been bad but their D looked really terrible in this game. I wonder if Bowles moving into the head coach role has left the D under coached a bit? Or maybe it's the couple of personnel losses in the off-season coming back to bite them.

Surprised to see the Pats struggle so badly on MNF but again the Bears have looked like a team improving over the last couple of weeks and maybe this shouldn't have been totally unexpected. They're actually quite similar to the Pats in their game plan I think and if anything beat them at their own game last night. Fields looks like a special talent that might be just starting to come into his own. Looking forward to watching him develop as the season progresses.

Almost at the half way point already, mad how quickly the season rushes past!

Sad to see Robinson go for the Jags. He was one of the few bright spots the last couple of years. I get it as he has really struggled after contact this year and Travis has been electric.

Guessing Pats have to go with Bailey but man he went out there, won the game and then sort of stalled out.

Edit: Bill is saying the plan was always to play both due to the ankle. Mac was running a lot for a guy with a bad ankle though and benching right after the pick is harsh. They did say at the half that they intended both QBs to play in the 2nd half. So guessing Mac gets another shot next game.

Not a fan of the boos for Mac. He is one game back from injury and did a lot for the team last year. If he gets benched, he gets benched but the jeers were harsh for someone who has given the crowd a lot to cheer about.

American fans will boo their own players at the drop of a hat, doesn't matter what the player has done in the past. It's shocking how quick they are to turn on their team. I thought Zappe looked great early but a lot of guys like that have a great opening couple of games until teams figure them out and he got snuffed as the game wore on.

I know the Bears had a couple of wins earlier in the year, but this was the first one where we actually played well, actually WON the game instead of just either fluking it (9ers in the rain) or just meeting a sad sack team that's even worse than us (Texans). Fields still made some serious errors of judgment in the passing game, but he was looking down field better than before and there's signs of progress. Much more worrying is the ongoing crappiness of our oline on passing plays (they are great on running plays), especially the return of Sam Mustipher at center. Our defense was great last night, especially to bounce back after Zappe had two spectacular passes in a row that led to TDs and should really have broken the D's resolve. Signs of progress overall, I still don't see us making the playoffs, but that's OK in a rebuilding year. Although with how middling everyone in the NFC has been this year, anything is possible.

Great to win against a good Pats team though, but a bigger challenge again next week by the looks of it.

Yeah, very harsh by the crowd. Just shooting themselves in the foot with it being so hard for a young QB to get over that experience.

Presume some fans were/are deluded and arrogant enough to think that every late round QB that shows some promise has a chance to turn into a starter or even a Brady.
