Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Swallow Activity

    The last few days we've had about 40 swallows flitting around our house in the morning.

    They are flying up to the existing 3 nests from earlier in the summer, I've seen seven at a time clinging to the wall underneath. They also are investigating other unoccupied spaces in the eaves. I don't see any obvious pairings, and there's no actual nest building activity. It would in any case seem to be quite late in the year for nest building?

    I imagine that they might be massing to get ready for migration south, just never saw this behaviour before.

    Any explanation as to what they are up to?

    Funny enough last night we saw hundreds upon hundreds of swallows swooping and diving in the sky. I'd imagine all feeding before their return to Africa. It was quite a site and something I'd never seen before.

    Maybe the youngsters looking for nesting spots when they return next year? I know swifts do this, not sure about swallows
