No Smoke without (Arcade) Fire

So the front man of one Arcade fire had sexual relations with women and now is in trouble. But due to him being oldish and in a rockband that is now inappropriate, so what's the point of being in a rockband if you can no longer be inappropriate?

Maybe I'm a bit biased as I consider Arcade Fire the best contemporary music groups around at the moment.

    He’s married, he’s a father. That’s why he’s in trouble..

he markets himself as a religious upstanding individual, he in interviews comes across as a rather moralising preachy and condescending individual…

Admit it, you only started this thread because you thought you were being clever with the title!

Seems perfectly in context with being of preachy religious disposition.

Do what I say, ignore what I do.

    story here

Alexandra Brodsky, a civil rights lawyer and the author of the new book Sexual Justice, has observed the shifting focus toward power dynamics. “It’s certainly right that over the last couple of years we’ve seen increased attention to how power differentials make it harder for people to say no and also to have their ‘nos be heard,” Brodsky said in an interview with Pitchfork. “We are further along on that question culturally than we are legally.”

It's awful what he has been accused of. What I also find awful is the moralising I've seen online from people with very outspoken views on the subject yet still went to the gig the other night. The Guardian article etc...

I saw on the Twitter hellhole one particular individual, who claimed to be very upset with the news, go to the gig anyway because they were "in town anyway".

Support act Feist has announced that she will no longer open Arcade Fire’s current tour, full statement linked

We all have a story within a spectrum ranging from baseline toxic masculinity to pervasive misogyny to actually being physically, psychologically, emotionally or sexually assaulted. This situation touches each of our lives and speaks to us in a language unique to each of our processing. There isn't a singular path to heal when you've endured any version of the above, nor a singular path to rehabilitate the perpetrators. It can be a lonely road to make sense of ill treatment. I can't solve that by quitting, and I can't solve it by staying. But I can't continue.

I love Feist the musical artist but that is a pure BS statement of nothingness. Playing word game gymnastics to mask that she has nothing to say. But reckons she should have something to say…

“ I’m leaving the tour for the purposes of damage limitation as to be associated with an individual accused of these terrible acts my have negative connotations for my career “…would be more accurate…

anyone who bought tickets with the expressed interest in also seeing Feist would be rightly disappointed as she appears on ALL their marketing.

It’s almost marketed as a co-headline tour….promotor should just grow a pair and tell her to fulfil the contract…. She’d have separate dressing rooms and would soundcheck after him so..as she’s on first so… she could just leave and be back to her hotel about 9.30 pm.

Man has sex, man gets cancelled. Who cares if he was married, she wanted his sausage and now regrets it. Move on.

My favourite song of hers, but I fear the content may now be a bit risky.

Four women made allegations - not just one. I don't get why someone is named when it's just allegations though? What's the legal logic to this?

That said, I don't just assume all accusers are lying either.

Disappointing if true. I love Arcade Fire. Funeral is such a phenomenal debut.
