Collecting Birch Tree Seeds

Previous discussion prompted this. Have a large birch tree. Last year it released loads of seeds. Seems a shame to let them go to waste, plus they germinate really easy it seems. What's the best way to capture these, store them and pass on to others ?

I'm being lazy ...
Came across this .. maybe just give dried catkins to others and let them take it from there ... ?

Collect and go for a walk near a conifer plantation and scatter them as you go. Some will germinate and over time rapidly colonise open spaces and become endemic. A win-win situation for all.
