The so what is these people are trying to force people to use pro nouns the key word there is "force" by law to confirm too there delusions.

Sorry but those people are not grifters they are speaking factual truth.

So your pity party for the trans or those of that elk doesn't wash, to be honest musk, Peterson and Shapiro absolutely and brutal expose these delusions and it gets people's backs up but it needs to be done and fair play to them for using there position to speak the truth and go against the mainstream media and those that go from fad to fad do black lives still matter or have we moved on to trans? These types of people go from cause to cause virtue signalling boards is a haven for these types.

The can't ban or moderate must or Shapiro or Peterson all they have left is attempts at discrediting them doesn't work tho.

JP isn't a LGBTQ virtue signalling drone so he will loathed on here for that reason alone he could save a child from a burning building tomorrow and he d be slated on here. You need to know the types that are on boards, and the types moderating it. Ask yourself what kind of person would be a moderator and you ll have your answer 🤣

What the hell does all this have to do with Tate? He's neither trans nor gay (to the best of our knowledge) and neither are any of his alleged victims?

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

What that boards is full of people of that elk that's why JP is loathed on here? The discussion has already gone that route thus my reply.

And tbh you are one of the posters that certainly fits the bill of what I'm talking about, overheal another one survigirl and most of the moderation that ensure you have the ability to pile on and bash anyone that doesn't appease you lot.

No coincidence you lot never get warnings despite being some of the most insulting dismissive posters on here.

I'll be honest - I have no idea who "JP" is, even less of an idea what bill I'm supposed to fit (so can neithre confirm nor deny) nor what any of this has to do with Tate…?

EDITTED - found out who JP was, still confused as to relevance.

    Ok

Well the post wasn't meant for you seeing as you are struggling to grasp it probably best you leave it off.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,779 ✭✭✭✭Princess Consuela Bananahammock

Public forum, meant for everyone who reads it.

Beyond that, I'll assume two failures to answer a simple question means you have no idea yourself so, I agree - best I leave it.

Now. Tate - any opinion, seeing as you're here?

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Directed at a poster who would understand it, you took issue with something you don't even understand. Don't need you to agree I already told you there was no option.

Andrew Tate is a hyperbolic ape who leverages controversial opinions to gain views online for profit. Some of his opinions are good some are woefully inaccurate.

That a side the cancel culture of modern society and the moderation of his views are in direct conflict with free speech it sets a dangerous precedent which is becoming more and more accepted, in my opinion this is driven by left leaning activists who are offended by everything and anything.

Still all opinion and no facts.... My opinion is I think Rogan and JP specifically in recent years espouse and encourage a toxic masculinity that while not being as bad a tate is absolutely a very small stepping stone towards his nonsense. Rogan also platforms some **** despicable people and legitimises their nonsense, several examples posted above.

This thread is about tate though so if you want to keep defending these morons in such a worshipful way then start a thread on it.

I am struggling to think of any "toxic masculinity" stuff Rogan espouses. Are you sure there is any - or is it like the "horse paste" lie that people think is true because CNN or Youtube told them so and they love the idea of it being true so much that they repeat it over and over despite being corrected on it multiple times? So people end up repeating the lie over and over - like one boards user I could name - or hear the lie so often that they come to think its true? (to be clear, I currently suspect you in the latter camp here not the former).

The moment you hear someone espouse the horse paste lie you know that EITHER they are an outright liar who want to deceive you OR they know nothing about what they are talking about and they themselves have been deceived and do not know (or do not care that) they themselves have been lied to. It's the same people who take Dave Chapelles special - which was a deeply moving love letter to his dead Trans friend that ended with the line "Young lady, I knew your father and he was a wonderful woman." - and claim the special was transphobic hatred because A) they never watched it and B) their favourite website told them it was so.

Perhaps if a person thinks masculinity is inherently toxic then they think any promotion of it is bad - then I can at least see where they are coming from. I have never been entirely sure what "masculinity" or "being a man" actually means myself. Despite being told I am about as "alpha male" as it gets. But whatever it is - no doubt Rogan is an example of it and espouses a lot of it.

But I am not seeing anything toxic about anything he promotes in that realm. Quite the opposite. I have heard hours of him going on and on and on about ways to curb and channel and control and mould pretty much every aspect of masculinity in positive and disciplined and beneficial ways - about finding nuance and meaning in life - and about bettering yourself and the world.

So - to go back on topic - as you say such people are not nearly as bad as some of the Tate stuff I have seen which - along with the entire PUA realm - is about as toxic as it gets. PUA types or PUA adjacent types are about as low in my estimation as it is possible to get. They see women as a resource to be exploited and manipulated. It makes me sick.

What I have learned as I get older is that almost no one is all good or all bad. If you hear endless hours of someones opinions theres going to be great stuff in there, and total guff there too. Some of it potentially even harmful. I definitely disagree with Rogan on much. I used to absolutely hate Peterson and wrote some pretty scathing posts on him in the past and much of what he says truly is guff. But over all I think both of them are a net positive in the world. If you listen to a lot of them, which I have, you find much good there. In the end they are like you and me. Humans with opinions - some of which are just going to be plain wrong.

And if you listen to a lot of people over all you learn to separate the gold from the mud. Especially when you find where those people overlap. For example, Peterson and Jocko Willink have reached the same conclusions on many issues, despite coming to those conclusions by avenues that could not be more different. There is a lot of gold where they overlap and a lot of guff where they do not. I noticed this LONG before the two met on a podcast. And one of the first things Willink said in that podcast was to acknowledge exactly that thing I had noticed.

The problem for me therefore is personality cults, positive or negative. If you think someone is all wonderful or all terrible, you are most likely going to be wrong in nearly every case. And people tend to decide which it is first (wonderful or terrible) and then cherry-pick quotes or opinions from that person to support the conclusion they had already reached.

The real question becomes - or should become - whether someone is an overall net positive or negative in the world. And I think Peterson (despite my earlier low opinion of him) and Rogan are definitely by far net positives in many ways. Jocko perhaps even more so. Whatever their faults - and like all humans they have faults - the world is simply a better place for them being in it doing what they do.

Tate thus far - I have yet to see anything I can construe as a positive from him. And much that is deeply toxic and harmful such that even if positive stuff were to be shown to me - it would need to be VERY positive to shift my opinion of him into being an overall net positive in the world. I think he is far along the net negative continuum. Much like someone like Ben Shapiro - I think his career choice unlike Peterson or Jocko or Rogan - is consciously to be a professional troll. I genuinely think the world is made overall worse for him being in it doing what he does.

Finally, briefly (given this post is already more than long enough) I have never given any credence to the "platforming" thinking on these things. I like that things I disagree with get platformed. I especially like it when they are in very long form format where I hear in depth what they think, why they think it, and how they came to think it. Because it truly is a "Know thy enemy" thing for me. So I would never hold who someone "platforms" against anybody. Quite the opposite. I laud them for it at times.

Absolutely true UK police scouring social media to make arrests. Not just for posts but even sharing something.

Nice handy method of controll there for stuff they decide they don't like.

Slippery slope there for free speech.

Yeah his books have some good advice, pet a kitten, smell the flowers, tidy your room etc, but that's not what he's famous for now.

He's famous for the thinly veiled anti-women stuff, the climate denial and whatever else his core market of young conservative American men want to hear. He's famous for challenging ideas, but none of his advice is challenging his for his target market to hear. He's just selling them exactly what they already want to hear and talking them they're right.

The cat petting chapter is about dogs. As an ailurophile, I was quite irritated by that.
