Yep, it's the same thing as the vertiv, just a different label on it. I have one myself, works a treat. Noisy though. If you order one, make sure you get the right voltage for your setup

They are great study clips. Alot quicker to add to battery cells and take off.

Anyone got a broken car charging cable? Must be free or cheap as chips. I'm particularly interested in the type 2 end that plugs into the car. Granny cable or normal cable, both will do just fine!

But seriously, just looking for some old / broken cable that has no economic value and is lying around somewhere. I believe in re-use / recycle etc. Would be better if I could have a play with that for my project. Rather than buy a second hand perfectly fine cable on adverts for €30 that I will butcher up. Or worse, get one brand new for €60 shipped all the way over from China.

One man's trash is another man's treasure. Personally I pretty much never need to go to the dump or get a skip (except for home renovations). Any old stuff without (much) economic value I have, I put up for free on adverts and usually it is collected within a day by the happy new owner

2011, low mileage, 8 bars left, both cables, current owner 5 years, passed NCT a few days ago and it was very cheap 😀

I had plans for V2H / V2G for many years, actually did it last winter with the "Red Arrow" hooked up to a standard Solis PV inverter - it was rudimentary, just manual on / off and full whack or nothing. But it saved my skin a good few times when my home battery ran out. I only had 32 CALBs (usable say 15kWh) at the start of winter 22/23. Now I have 75kWh home storage so really no need for it anymore, I can just sit back and relax until very cheap solutions become commercially available. I have a 75kWh Tesla on the drive and a 75kWh Tesla home storage setup in the shed 😀

Nice, noticed one or two leafs coming up recently and prices were still higher than what I'd like as a backup but cracking that you got one for good cheap price.

That's some serious storage there! Only in last week have I started to sell back from excess battery at night for 3 hours before cheap charging rate but with your size storage could make nice earner from extra hours nightly discharge

Pretty much every single day (apart from bad winter days) I now sell at least 12kWh back to the grid - often at night before charging at 2AM starts again. I do this on purpose as it is the sweet spot. Buying 44kWh plus the standing charge for a day costs me about the same as selling 12kWh pays me back. In other words: a free day! Need a lot more automation here, it's next on my list after getting the physical setup all sorted and safe and the system working well

What do you consider still higher than you'd like for a Leaf and would you only buy it for the battery? Or would you use it as a backup car?

No probs man! This evening I combined a €20 old granny cable and a free broken type 1 charging cable (both from boardsies - thank you very much - you know who you are) into a 10m granny cable. Tested it and working fine

Next step is to replace my outdoor double socket with a smart one that I can control from home assistant. Another great way to dump excess PV power into the home / vehicle! And of course when we get flexible rates, hopefully very soon, another way to take in electricity and get paid for it at the same time

Not many other instances in human history where you could actually have your cake and eat it 😁
