I lived there for a time, its the most beautiful city I've been to. Its setting is amazing, where the mountains meet the sea. Some of the main excursions are to Vancouver Island and to the ski town of Whistler. Seattle is only about 3 hours away as well. I think that included the border crossing too. Seeing as you're only there for 3 nights you probably won't have time for much of that. You could easily entertain yourself just in Vancouver for 3 nights. Get a bus out to the Kitsilano/UBC area and walk some of the beaches. Rent bikes in Stanley Park. Get the water bus to North Vancouver and go up Grouse Mountain for amazing views over the city. Granville Island Market is worth a visit too.

agree with above. If you are only there for 3 nights, just enjoy Vancouver itself. Its the most amazing and beautiful city, right on the water. You have Granville Island with water taxis to it, Stanley Park, Vancouver island (not to be missed) and if you're fit hike The Chief. I didn't live there but visited Vancouver 5 times to visit family. I would say Whistler and Seattle (both of which I've visited) are too far for a 3 day stay. Just soak up the vibes of Vancouver.

Thanks, I'll be disembarking from a cruise in Vancouver early in the morning so I'll have 3 full days. I'll be visiting Victoria for a day as part of the cruise before heading to Vancouver. My son lived in Kitsilano one summer on a J1 type trip and said Vancouver is the most stunning place he's ever been so I plan on taking the bus out there. He also recommended most of the places mentioned but didn't do an actual excursion or stay in a hotel.

Vancouver is a lovely, lovely city. I think you will really enjoy it.

Vancouver Island and Whistler are excellent day trips but if you're only going to be there for three days they may not be worth the effort. But they are worth considering.

Love your username. I took me a minute to recall where I knew the name from.

Blue Horizon Hotel on Robson St. The free shuttle to Capilano Suspension Bridge and hop on hop off bus stops outside, very central safe area.
