Moving a boundary fence. How expensive?

    TLDR. My neighbour has agreed to sell us a part of his garden. He quoted 20k for about 40m² which I think is reasonable but at the edge of our budget. We will pay the cost of moving the fence and getting the boundary changed.

    The change is a straight line at 90 degrees with the new boundary being in line with an existing footpath on their site. Very simple mutually agreed change.

    I have no idea how much the legal fees would be for this and don't want to look foolish when I talk to a solicitor. Anyone have any experience of this please?
