New panels added but only work after switching off and on the AC isolator switch

    Hi Folks

I have a 16 panel array, 10 panels on string 1 and 6 panels on string 2. I decided to add another 6 panels to string 2 making a total of 12 panels on string 2. All 12 panels have optimisers. However what I've noticed is that when the new 6 panels should be generating, they dont seem to be until such time as I switch off and on the AC isolator switch. At this stage the generation shoots up so I know that all 12 panels are generating.

Anyone any idea's why only 6 panels would generate until such time as the AC isolator is switched off and on. For me to get the benefit of the 6 newly added panels onto the same string as the existing 6 panels, I have to power the switch off and on on a daily basis which is just bizarre. Any input on why this might be happening would be really welcomed.

    Many thanks

    Shane.

Any alarms/error codes on the inverter? Max voltage exceeded, etc

Wondering if power cycling the inverter effectively resets the error fault condition on the inverters which then allows you to recommence production. Any particular time (from the logs) where production stops? Basically any common variable that you may have noticed. e.g. production stops at 1:10pm or there abouts everyday etc

    Hi Jonathan

So let me give you a bit more detail. On the string that has 12 panels, 6 of the panels are on the south west roof, the newly added 6 panels are on the north west of the roof. All 12 panels are fitted with optimisers based on solartricity saying I would need 12 optimisers. The newly added 6 panels have been connected to the existing 6 panels and yes they are connected through a firemans switch(that was fitted as part of the original installation). I'm baffled as to why the newly added 6 panels dont generate until AC isolator switch is powered off and on. I also noticed yesterday that if I switch the DC isolator switch off the generation also shoots up and takes into account the newly added 6 panels.

    Hi there

So there are no alarms on the inverter. I'm not sure how to tell if max voltage is exceeded or not - any idea's how I would check? Let me give you a bit more detail. On the string that has 12 panels, 6 of the panels are on the south west roof, the newly added 6 panels are on the north west of the roof. All 12 panels are fitted with optimisers based on solartricity saying I would need 12 optimisers. The newly added 6 panels have been connected to the existing 6 panels. Before adding the newly added 6 panels, generation would decline by about 5.30pm in the evening. I decided to add the 6 panels to the north west of the roof to capture generation in the evening. So by about 5.30 if I didnt switch off and on the AC isolator switch its like as if the newly added 6 panels werent added and I'd lose the evening generation. I also noticed yesterday that if I switched off the DC isolator switch on its own the generation would shoot up and capture the evening sun. I have to say I'm baffled by whats going on. Solartricity arent sure whats going on either. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
