Maybe to protect the identity of the child.

Fair play to the party for doing this and if anyone is charged we will know which political party is involved. So lets wait and see.

Certainly was the right thing to do and they followed good practice.

Just strange that it's a story in the Times and doesn't really add up to much unless it's a high profile person.

Naming the party would not identify the 16 year old.

Doesn't really matter which party it is, what matters is that the party whichever party that maybe took the correct steps in informing the Gardai and Tulsa. The only matter to be called into question is the behavior of the politician that made the contact and I hope that which ever party it is has taken appropriate steps in dealing with the politician involved.

I know it probably doesn't need to be said but usually in most businesses if something like a security issue or something similar to this, training or retraining is given to all company employees so that they understand what can and cannot be done and what action needs to be taken if something is discovered. I hope all political parties do this with all their members.

It is clear this is subject to ongoing investigation. No-one has been charged and the identity of party and individual is not disclosed

Thread closed as it can only attract speculation
