The demographic who are being diagnosed with it are being diagnosed because they are a demographic who are very vigilant when unusual skin lessions appear on their bodies, so they present for a medical examination. Monkeypox is caused by skin to skin contact. We all have skin. We all have skin to skin contact of greater or lesser degrees for various reasons. Some of us with multiple people. Its not confined to any specific demographic. Hook-up culture is not something only or all gay men engage in.
