    Hi there,

My neighbors are currently building and extension at the back of a terraced house, the extension runs the full length of the garden so now I'm basically left with a brick wall running along the entire back garden. I'm aware of the 40sqm / 25sqm garden space rules and the height is below 4m. I'm wondering if there are any rules around the length allowed as this is easily about 9-10 meter length. Thanks!

The regulations for exempted developments only refer to the are of the development not it's length or width. If they made a 4Mx10M extension that would be within regulations.

The vast majority of people in housing estates throughout the country have "brick (block) walls running along the entire back garden"

That's the consequence of living in an urban area
