Copper or lead for new hunter

I have a question I'd like to ask all ye experienced deer stalkers out there.

This is my first season on the deer. Il be using a Ruger America in .308 (cheap and cheerful) and was thinking if I should start off using copper build and just get used to it from the start or does it really matter because for next year if all goes well il be changing that rifle to something new and something to keep for many years to come. Would then be the time to start using copper and this year just use lead?

Shoot away on lead while you can, unless the cost difference doesn't matter to you??? You,LL probably fire more rounds in your Ruger at the start, so cheaper has to be better. Shopping to lead later will be no big deal. Enjoy

Use lead for as long as you can, no sense in spending more money on ammo than necessary.

Ammo prices already bite, don't waste more on copper

banning of lead bullets is in reality a stealth ban on shooting sports. Use lead bullets as long as you can.
