I got request for payment a couple of weeks ago but inclined to hold off until end of this week at least I'm case they are delayed.

Did you get an update from Tesla re. arrangements to collect etc?

mine is currently 27 January - 11 February.

    Was originally 14 - 28 January

It's a long story but essentially I need a car soon (second baby arriving next week), Tesla told me despite it being indicated at point of order that a January delivery was likely, that in fact I should expect April or May. I followed their instructions to instead select an inventory car to expedite delivery. I did, and they said they would update this in the background to match me to this car. Then I got a call saying to due a system glitch they wanted me to order the car again, pay another 250 and both deposits would be credited. I did this (and didn't apply my referral again as understood it was already applied).

I was then told that I had lost my referral and nothing they can do. I kicked up a fuss about this and a week later still no update only that a ticket was logged.

I'm really frustrated and disappointed with the whole experience.. They have a 500 deposit and the app is requesting payment only crediting 250 and no referral. I really hope Tesla sort it this week but they have not committed to anything. I was promised call backs several times that didn't happen also. Very disappointed with the whole experience.. I hope they can make it good..

That's atrocious. Probably a result of being stuck with an online system that's incredibly rigid or the people concerned don't know how to fix issues like this. Either way, I'd walk.

I'm close to that point, but not sure I'd get my deposit (s) back.

You will get your deposit back under distance selling rules. I’d email them again citing an update by Friday or cancellation or call into the showroom to speak to someone, ask for a manager above the floor sales staff.

They won’t care but if you really want the car, don’t bite your nose to spite your face but sometimes you just have to walk away!

Is there anything special about the order to signify an April/may delivery? Seems far out when people that ordered in November/December are getting their cars this month.

The ordering process is 100% the worst part of buying a Tesla as it’s either flawless or troublesome. When it works it works but in your case, flawed.

Thanks, yes I was thinking of calling into the showroom.. Might do that. I read somewhere that tesla updated their terms on the deposit to state if you took a car for a test drive that they no longer regarded it as a distance sale and so the distance selling rules don't apply?

If its sorted this week I will proceed although I'm not getting any indication from them it will be.

Unfortunately what you’ve experienced seems to pretty normal with Tesla Ireland. Would it be an option to just go buy one with small Km’s from the likes of Graham Walker if you’re stuck.

Sadly their pre-sales routine is amateur hour at best, but it does get better post-sale if that's any consolation. Normally it's the other way around with most manufacturers I suppose.

Just a bit of an update, called into the store today and a very nice and very professional guy there has reassured me that all will be sorted in the next 48hrs or so. He was excellent, pity more of the tesla team are not like this guy.

A transporter truck full of Teslas was spotted on the M50 lads.

Maybe the wait is nearly over, maybe 😬

If anyone is planning to trade in their older black or midnight silver M3 LR AWD (201 onwards, <80,000 km) into Tesla or dealerships, then consider sending me a DM. I'm looking to privately sell my own SR+ in favour of an LR for frequent cross-country trips but without incurring any godawful markups. Would pay at minimum what you were offered by Tesla or GW or similar.

Graham Walker offering a lot more than Tesla though.

how ye can continue to line the pockets of that nazi is beyond me.

He's the main unaffiliated dealership for Teslas so can do well with finer margins through volume. Also, he generally doesn't accept pre-2021 refresh ones unless as a favour.

Vector Motors also. They will actively take your Tesla for better than tesla trade offers. Along with many other brands.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 494 ✭✭Gile_na_gile

Yes, and with Platin Motors, are the main other ones. That said, would be great if sellers could give a heads up on the sale/wanted thread or FB while they wait on their deliveries. It's rare to see a competitive private sale of an AWD. Best right now is a blue 201 with 124,000 km for 26k asking, but which is too much on odometer for me.

I missed a good opportunity for a private sale last year. Rang, asked questions, mooched, and then two hours later it was for sale with GW… My fault for not moving faster.

there’s a few on the FB group I think. I’ll check now.

Quote FB group as he has it on that for €25k

Waiting on delivery of new M3.Was initially showing delivery date of 2nd Jan -20th.. and its changed several times since. Up to yesterday it was 24th Jan - 2nd Feb, checked today and its been pushed out from 30th Jan to 14th Feb, fairly frustrating.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 579 ✭✭✭antfin

Yeah the start of the year can be very slow on deliveries with dates pushed out a few time and then they ramp up as it nears the quarter end in mid-March. As I recall, were you not offered a December delivery that you declined? No matter what the sales guy say, that usually puts you to the back of the queue.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 494 ✭✭Gile_na_gile

Looks very well kept, and presented properly too, but been around the globe thrice at 124k km. I'm sure there will be more in coming days and weeks as delivery dates approach again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 579 ✭✭✭antfin

It looks like the 0.9% APR offer has ended and the rate has gone back up to 6.9%.
