Mine last year was a little crooked, but was easy to line up again as only held on by one screw... Noticed a few out of line ones at a recent Tesla meet up as well. But a minor problem.. Enjoy.

Yeah, did a checklist had a buddy with me, toolk about 45 mins to complete. I was waiting for 30 mins to be seen after my alloted time. You could use this time to do external checks on car.

No obvious faults on the car.

I wasn't happy with the presentation of the car, complained, got the line log a service request, from the supervisor. Was the worst experience of buying the car. Tesla let themselves down at the last hurdle!!

There are too few staff for the volume of cars, they don't have time to detail them properly. Also my plates were put on while I was waiting.

You can stay as long as you want, the staff don't care

Did you use CU or other loan? What did you choose when setting up payment?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 138 ✭✭toushea

if you are using a standard bank or CU loan your payment would be “cash” and you would then transfer the loan from your account to Teslas after your draw it down. Only exception would be if you did bank hire purchase but not even sure if that’s an option anymore.

    Hi Guys

    just booked a M3 yesterday.

and going though the thread should I expect the delivery in September ? 🤣

    it’s says July-Sept.

and also the grants from what I have read on the forum it’s the last thing and since it will be after July the grants would 3500 instead of 5000. So will Tesla provide an updated markup of the breakdown ?

Is NCT documentation posted via mail post collection?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,521 ✭✭✭September1

In my case CU is transferring directly to Tesla, so my account is not involved. I wonder if I'm only person who has encountered this situation.

@Gumbo Is NCT documentation posted via mail post collection?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,636 ✭✭✭talla

There is no NCT documentation, NCT only required after 4 years on new car. If buying second hand, only early 2019 Model 3's would be hitting the first NCT.

You are seeing the range dates for your Estimated Delivery Date and this will narrow over time and it is “as it says on the tin” an Estimate First concrete sign is the allocation of a Vehicle Identification Number “VIN” and this could happen any time it might even happen in coming days if say a car matching your configuration becomes available through a cancellation, so in theory any time.

You should check the “Current Inventory” on Tesla site and see if a car matching your spec is available as that way you can be assured also of getting max SEAI grant of 5k and an added incentive of 10,000 free supercharging miles but you would need to be able to collect by 30th June.

There will be wording on your Order Agreement about the SEAI grant which essentially means that any changes are beyond Tesla control so I would not expect to hear anything more from Tesla until a delivery date is allocated and the grant amount will be what it will be at that time

    Any question message me

Yes. As the date gets closer your invoice will update. You may even get offered a cancellation car. Unless it’s a P, I believe no P’s will be delivered this Q.

its not a P, it RWD with only paint customisation.

cool thanks for the update, won;t bank on the grant and will apply for finance in the end now.

Due to collect the car this week, just wanted to double check:

-if the car is dirty, I read somewhere on this thread that Tesla will offer a refund for valet/wash, is that correct? Any recommendations around D6 area for a good valet?

-when doing the interior/exterior checks on collection day, does a Tesla staff member hang around and make me sign something to say I'm happy to take the car?

    Thanks in advance!

    1. depends on how “dirty”. They tend to be dealer clean and that’s sufficient.
    2. no, you are left to inspect by yourself in your own time.

collecting tomorrow at 10:30 with no reg number so far .. called/chat with support with no luck..

They manage to keep the process so stressful till the collection time :/

Similar situation with me. Collecting on Monday but have told not to expect the reg until 24hrs beforehand at best. Anybody have any issues transferring insurance to a Tesla with AIG? Was told by them that they may have to refer to the underwriter which can take 48hrs.

same situation with Aviva, it could take up to 24 hours if refered to underwriter .. I mentioned that to support but with no luck

I'm collecting Thursday but got the reg yesterday, it's live on Motortax.ie too but not on the likes of cartell.ie yet.

This has been the most unpleasant experience of handing over 50k+ I've ever encountered! I'm just hoping that what seems to be the general consensus of "it all gets better after collection" is accurate. It all boils down to the fact that we're dealing with the UK call centre up until delivery and most of them haven't a clue of the Irish market.

What would be the best place to charge after collection? I will be travelling back to Cork and assuming that there is just about 20% charge and I don't want to risk trying for a SC. Also what app(and prior setup) would I need to use the said third party charger? Thanks

Ionity chargers at Kill are about 10 minutes away and it will take that long for your cameras to be calibrated.

Set up an online account beforehand with their App and it should be very easy to use.

I collected last Friday. Got the reg after close of business Thursday night. No problem transferring insurance with AIG. The agent on the phone had to check with supervisor but it was not referred. My car is M3 RWD, I don't know about MY. I had phoned them earlier in the week (without a reg) just to check that there would not be a problem. It cost about €60 to change for 2.5 months!

Make sure the CU add your RN as a reference. I asked them to, even pointed out how important it is, but they didn't!

I recommend putting the money into a secondary CU "savings" account and transfer it from there yourself

Are you looking at the car price coming in at €54,870? If you follow the line down you'll see additional charges (VRT and Tire Fee) bring it up to €58,939 and when the SEAI grant is minused it brings it back to €53,940. That explains the €930 difference.
