    Hi,

Does anyone have a recommendations on a good place to get a car service for a citroen around Lucan, Clondalkin, Ballyfermot area (willing to go anywhere in Dublin).

Feel like I got ripped off by Atlas autoservice last year. Just looking for somewhere honest that won't take the piss. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Was just about to say stay away from Atlas for anything other than tyres. I brought a car there once and they changed the coolant but never sealed it, so I was half way down the road when it emptied, so they refilled and sealed, then the thermostat went so they replaced it, but actually it turns out they couldn't replace it properly and seemed to glue it on, so the thermostat broke and the engine overheated and cracked.

Would you consider doing the work yourself? A full service is much easier than you'd think, all you need is a basic ratchet and socket set, a pair of car service ramps and maybe an extension bar. You'd still save some money even with buying what you need along with the oil, filters etc.

Plenty of YouTube videos that could guide you, can be daunting but it's really not complicated and the feeling of self accomplishment is a big plus.

No, I'd rather someone who knows what they are doing take care of it

Curran Auto services in Bohernabreena are excellent also. Been using them for eons now. Never had an issue they couldn't sort out.

A one-man operation in Clondalkin - I have found him to be superb and reasonable prices for over 30 years.

Kinda old-fashioned, no website - and I think is planning on retiring next year

or a bit further away Dolphin Motors in Clontarf - a Citroen specialist
