Home water filtering system

    Hi there,

    Does anyone know what one needs to do to get their tap water filtered though am inbuilt filtration system.

    Do you go to a plumber or what kind of money is it?

    id imagine some plumbers would do the job, theres also some specialist companies out there doing so also, use to work for one years ago, ive no idea whats going on in the industry nowadays though, google might give you some answers, costs is a piece of string situation, and the skys the limit there....

    try Celtic water solutions. About 450e including installation for a 5 stage reverse osmosis system. 2 hour install.

    If its just for drinking water its pretty much a DIY job as there is very little plumbing involved, all you are doing is taking one connection from your mains under your sink, drilling a hole in the sink and pushing a few pipes together.

    For a whole house system its a bit more of a job for a plumber but nothing a DIYer couldn't do.

    So its down to how much of your water you want filtered and why you want it filtered.

    Depending on the crap in the water you may want different types of filter. A mate has a special system because his well is full of pollution (nitrates) due to human Sh!t being spread on nearby fields and another has a reverse osmosis filter for drinking water I think because of iron.
