LG 42/55 C2 OLED

Hi Guys;

Long time fan of your forum here.

I have been researching TVs a bit and specifically looking at the LG C2 series.

I have an old LG 47' (6 years old) with no soundbar and would like to upgrade it and add a soundbar.

I can fit a 55inch in with a sound bar underneath.

I do have some older Sonos speakers but no fussy on going sonos.

Keeping it easy to use is the most important factor for me. Fewer remotes and works with the TV matters most.

Id like to get a TV which does the next 6 years and capable of adding gaming later (120Hz).

My query is your opinion on the model, is it worth the price, and what is the alternatives?

To be honest, the LG OLEDs are still leading the way for picture quality and features. I own an LG OLED myself but it's one of the older B8 series TVs. The C series is a big jump up, especially now that they offer the VRR HDMI 2.1 support and the Alpha 9 Gen 5 processor. It's a brighter panel than the older gen C series.

We also cover our TVs for 6 Years with our warranty and it covers parts and labour (it doesn't cover accidental damage or screen burn).

The closest alternative would be the Sony XR55A80KU which uses a slightly different processor but the difference in picture quality is minimal. The Sony also uses the Android operating system rather than the LG Web OS.

LG actually do a few good Atmos soundbars that would pair really well with the TVs! I would recommend something like the SP8Y at £699 which sounds fantastic.

I can match this deal on the sterling price no problem! It's an OLED55C24LA and the free soundbar is the G1 Atmos soundbar!
