He is a superb sports broadcastor. Well done John, very well said. Many of those people on twitter are silly, and don't understand Sport like you. He gave a splendid explanation about his twitter comments on otb-am with the lads ger and eoin.

Bad sunday paper review, really miss Joe when hes not on it. The guy presenting spent about 7 or 8 minutes reading out a full article at the end, and then was suprised when they had no time to discuss it!

I've no idea who half them are. A lot of them seem like they have very little knowledge of sport and presenting and shouldn't be on national radio. Feels like it's community radio half the time

That thread you linked (that was deleted) is only 1 page long. The original was pages long. I posted in it and had tremendous discussions with a lovely poster tellmehow

The last few posts in the thread were not kind to certain presenters of offtheball. So some posters guessed that's why it closed. #bekind

Did offtheball staff request boards.ie to delete the thread? And what mod closed the thread? Perhaps they could explain why it disappeared?

The thread I linked wasn't deleted, hence why it's still there... And it links back to the prior thread, which has nearly 10k posts and is still there. The thread split happened before the new software hence it was still at ~10k

The reason why some posters and myself thought the thread was deleted was because the thread disappeared from the radio front page. And as you say, no post since last summer.

But there had been hundreds of posts since that thread started last summer, and I know the last few posts were about how poor aisling was as a presenter.

So how come of all the threads, of all posts, why were hundreds of posts deleted from the otb thread?

Can you really blame the software, since this happened in July 2022?

Or is any negative comments about females on the radio forum not allowed? Look what happened to the lottie Ryan thread. Joe, Ryan, D'Arcy are fair game but not lottie and aisling?

It was well known ger and Richie were on the forum. Are you sure no mod was instructed to delete posts from that thread you linked? Hmmm!

I am an occasional listener, and I have certainly heard them having a go at City, and more recently at Newcastle, on account of their foreign connections. They have gone into great detail about the German newspaper expose of City's abuse of the financial fair play rules. But I missed the bits about the golf. Someone would need to hear the full three hours and never miss an edition to know everything.

To discuss it properly would need recordings, and a piece by piece analysis of what they actually said. Colourful language like going in two footed, or not tugging back a shirt doesn't convey anything useful. And I certainly would not rely on my recall to argue a point in detail.
