Planning search

Hi all, currently buying a house and in the process of getting a planning search done. Can anyone share their experience of how long this search took when they were buying? Thanks!

Maybe the house is there pre "scanning"

Op it depends on the local authority. Some might store paper files on site so it'd easy to get, others store files off site and could take a week or two to get.

Then it's up to whoever is doing the search to vote the files and visit the property to check if all's ok

Agree, if in Dublin, the Search will still throw up files, but you'd then have to go into the Public Desk to view the older files on Microfish alright.

That’s 2002. Should be a lot of info online.

At least the reference numbers and you will then be armed with the info to request at the counter.

It depends. A lot of councils have the files all scanned to their website. Some may necessitate a visit to the council to check the planning files physically. Even if it's the latter it should still only take 2-3 days to receive the planning search back from the searcher.
