Assaulted in Dublin

So last Friday I was assaulted by a drunk/high/mentally ill man who sounded like he was from NI. I was waiting for the Matthews coach to Meath on Cumberland Street when he approached me. Everything seemed fine. He started talking to another woman and getting handsy with her. He then sat down, started eyeing me and then threw two punches.

Luckily I'm okay but I was advised by two people there to make a report. Is there even any point?

There’s always a chance that he can be identified via CCTV or another individual, so yes, report it while it’s still fresh in your mind.

Report it, even if he can't be identified following an investigation it's important for crime counting which ultimately has an impact on resource allocation in the grand scheme of things.

This point is often missed, but very important. Sometimes it might seem like there is no point in making an incident report, but then we can not argue for more resources, if we do not know what issues we are trying to address and where.

Report it and don't hold your breath.

You'd never know anyways, he could have don't something else 20 minutes before hitting you. Could tie in.
