Day 1 for me. The last iteration I didnt play for well over 12 months from its release but when I did it absolutely blew me away. For my money its the best looking game ever on the PS4 so its tantalising to think what it will look like on the 5.

Suppose now's the time to restart my second playthrough! Hype is real, day 1 without a doubt. Gonna wait a bit closer to the release time but will be booking time off too. And that's me done with anything to do with this game until release. I'll be back then!

Excellent stuff glad it didn't get pushed into early 23. November is normally full of call of duty so this will be a nice change of pace.

Where in Ireland can I preorder the collectors edition? Cheers

'Collector's editions' really are one of the greatest scams publishers have ever managed to pull off. Ludicrous price for worthless tat... and you don't even get a disc with it.

Some Collector's Edition's are nice Johnny. But there is no way I'm going to spend £180 around €210 for the Collector's Edition for the new God of War game.

Standard edition will do me just fine.

You can kind of only expect good things when the development team sounds like they are having so much fun developing the combat system.

Seems strange to market the biggest game of the year like that

Seems like more of the same, which isn't necessarily bad ( although didn't work for horizon)

Guess it'll be time to dust off and get some use out of the ps5 for a week come November.

Ah Horizon was secretly not that Greta a game and the sequel exposed that. GoW on the other hand is unquestionably great.

Still need to pick up Forbidden West.

As for God of War, think I got the last one when it dropped in price. Though not sure how long it'll take this one to drop since they seem to take longer these days. And when they do they drop to around the old price for games.

I blasted through the original Horizon on easy last year when I got a PS4 to play all the exclusives I missed out on. I thought it was decent enough but have started the sequel recently and just don't think I can be arsed with it. God of War on the other hand was the best game I've played in a looooong time, I don't think more of the same there would be any issue whatsoever.

I'm the same. Loved ZD, but just couldn't get into FW. When the map opened up, instead of excitement I was disheartened. I'll give it another go again some day. It's a stunningly beautiful game, and it does have the best character interactions and animations of any game I've played yet. Just don't think I was ready for a massive open world slog. But more of GoW 2018? Yeah, no one will complain. I've heard there's new things in it, but I've avoided nearly everything so I can keep it fresh.

I think Forbidden west is a brilliant game, I rate it highly. It is a massive game, a bit too big I'll give you that, but there's always something to do and I enjoy the grind to upgrade weapons/outfits, quite liked the story, the side quests are decent and I think the combat system has a lot of good points.

The game just can't be played the same way you'd play ZD, have to adapt your playstyle. But what do I know I'm only 55hrs in and barely scratched the surface.

I did enjoy FW, but bigger isn't always better. There was a lot of fluff in the game, making things from the first game longer and more difficult rather than adding new stuff in (eg. Machine overrides and upgrading weapons/armour were just made far more complicated, rather than coming up with something new). The underwater sections, while beautiful, were frustrating to play. Some of the settlements were frustrating to navigate through. The combat could be just annoying at times trying to hit a tiny spot on machines which never stop flipping about. Aloy took forever and a day to get back up after being knocked down (think that was fixed in a patch though). The story was a lot worse than the first game too imo.

Decent game and I enjoyed it for the most part, but I really hope Ragnarok doesn't go down the same route. GoW was a very tight and focused game in everything it did. It doesn't necessarily need to be bigger. It just needs to be better.

Doesn't even need to be better, more of the same will suffice!

Yep. I just want it to be like the original GOW 2. Give us a more polished version of the original with more variety and up the insanity and wow factor.

That comic perfectly sums it up. I've faith in Santa Monica.

Now I want them to remake the original trilogy with modern combat and graphics...

God of War Ragnarok is around 40 hours in length, Insider Gaming has learned. It's understood that the entire experience is around 40 hours, with 20 hours needed to complete the game's main story.

Sources have said that around 3 and a half hours of the 20 hours played will be cinematic scenes, with the remaining 16 and a half hours for gameplay.

The other 20 hours of game time is to complete all of the additional side quests, with around 19 hours dedicated to gameplay and an additional 1 hour of cinematics.

Of course, these numbers are just estimates and will vary wildly depending on your playstyle.

How many of those sidequest hours involve dying to the Valkyrie equivalents?
