Built under double oven vs single oven unit dimensions

    Hi All,

Wondering if anyone can help me out. We just got some new Kitchen Units installed. Turns out the unit supplied to house the oven under the counter is for a single oven built in. We had planned on putting in a double under built in. Miscommunication in our part.

So the whole size of the unit carcass is 600mm by 720mm outside to outside dimensions. With a shelf on the bottom that takes up the space underneath the normal single oven space, with a void underneath.

I am wondering if I take out that shelf would I then get the double in. Standard size of these is 720 in height and 595 width. Which seems grand but I'm wondering will it slide in. Ie is the main body of the ovens smaller than the face.

From looking it up it seems for a double built in under counter you don't usually have a unit. The oven sits on brackets attached to the sides of the adjoining units. Anyone any insight.

Have it order oven this weekend so not sure whether to go ahead and order the double.

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping I would get away with taking out the shelf and the base of the unit, leaving in the sides.

As it worked out taking out the shelf and base of the unit will work out.

Width wise its spot on. Was beat by about 10mm with the base of the unit.in place, So took that out. Just need to get a couple of brackets now and should be good to go.
