Lift Arms Help Needed

One of the lower lift arms on the 265 here is bent out of shape so have a replacement bought.I assume the pin/fixing holding it in place under the chassis should just pull through ?

As it is there's is no moving the pin. Am I right in assuming it's just that it is seized and as such almost welded into place due to the age of the tractor. Wanna be sure before I get the grinder out !

Have you opened the hex bolt as shown by the red arrow? Looks like it is threaded into a groove or a dimple.

Ya but it's just a nut on a section of whats like threaded bar. Doesn't have a bolt head if you know what I mean

I've a 590 with same thing. The pin is out of shape.must look have a go at it again

have a 265 here and the balls at end of link arms were coming out, like you couldn't remove those pins so cut and welded ends to tighten up balls in situ. If you succeed in removing arm would love to hear how you managed ( sorry no help to you ! )

But I'd say at some point some one tried opening it and sheared the head of the bolt.that bolt holds the pin so you have to loosen it and then hopefully you ll get pin but it could be seized in too

tried that too, problem pin has to come out towards wheel as not enough space for it to travel inwards which means hard to get room to hammer it out

Is it moving at all?? After the torch? If that stud was heated a vise grip might spin it out. That would be one problem sorted.

The bigger pin then, it it’s stuck fast, more heat and drive it inwards if you could cut of bits off it at a time with a 9” grinder or a con saw with a steel disk. Drive it in until it’s 1/4 inch from housing, cut off that bit and start again.

Sorry, not the OP, left mine in and repaired the end of lift arm on tractor but no it didn't budge after heat for me ( didn't stay trying too long either ). OP is replacing whole lift arm so this might work for them. The part your heating is part of the rear axle casing so the heat seemed to dissipate away the whole time
