Stove in B2 rated house

We’re getting an extension and renovation. House currently C3, will be improved to B2. Architect has said that we can put in a stove but realistically it will be too warm to want to use it. Never lived in a A/B rated home so this is hard for me to imagine. Any thoughts/experience?

Our house is B3 with a stove and we use the stove almost every night in the winter. Can get a bit warm at times if you put too much fuel in but we have learned how to use minimal fuel in it to prevent it getting too hot but still get the nice feel of the stove lighting.

Every house is different though so probably depends on the layout and the type of stove etc

better to have it and not need it.

there may be some very cold nights in winter when you be glad of it

We have an A2 house and a stove. It pushed us over an A1. Anyway, we have used it but it is more of an ambience thing than a need for warmth.

It is better to have the stove installed.

It will also be very useful when the Electricity is off.

All new houses without solid fuel stoves will have a heating problem when the electricity supply is off.

Thanks folks. Agree with the idea that it’s better to have it and not use it then be wishing we had one.

it could be as little as a 4kw stove. all you need it for would be room heating
