Round up versus Gallup on rushes

how are you? with a shortage of round up, i use it to kill rushes i am trying gallup.

i want to know will Gallup work like round up on rushes

Gallup and Roundup are both the same -> it's Glyphosate under a brand name.

Either way I'd be using an MCPA on rushes rather than Glyphosate

I assume you are using a weedlicker/wiper. In the past I've used both (Roundup Biactive and Gallup) at the same mix rate in a weed licker and imo there was no difference in performance in either - they both killed the rushes. However I also added washing up liquid as a sticker.

Yes it does but you may need to repeat the application. I found the best killout that I got was weed licking/wiping them in both directions then a month or so after they were dead I mowed them with the disc mower. Any new growth that sprouted I weedlicked again when they were tall enough to do so. There was a few bits that grew the following Spring but once I weed licked them they died off. That was about 8 years ago and the area (about a quarter of an acre) has remained clear of them up until this year where I noticed a few sprigs starting to grow. I will tackle them shortly.

I used a quarter of a bottle in the weedlicker container which I think is 100l. Make up your mix as normal and stir it before adding the washing up liquid otherwise you will have bubbles everywhere.

Edit to add - it was a 2.5l bottle of washing up liquid.
