    Super Frankie Lampard, breaking records

This really might be the death of Lampard's managerial career.

There are many circumstances where a new manager just doesn't have the tools at the club to get results - that's the opposite here! He's got an immense squad full of quality that are simply unmotivated. Any young manager's bread and butter should be motivating the existing players to get more out of them.

Grand - it's probably too much of a confused mix of players to really be pushing for major success right away, but to have had this absolute abject failure with the quality he has there... it's maybe the worst managerial performance i've ever seen. He came into a somewhat struggling side and instantly made them 10 times worse. Under Potter they were a disappointment, but they were far far better than they are now.

I don't really see where Lamp's goes after this, after being so awful at Everton just before as well. Might be lucky to get a bottom half championship team, which to be honest would probably be the best thing for him. Just go work on the nuts and bolts of management away from the limelight that only exists because of a different career.

Cant see a bottom half team in any division going near him.

He is too skilled at dragging sides DOWN the table.

The funny thing is everyone thought this was a free swing, he had a very outside chance at the champions league and nothing to lose really. Whereas it looks like the end of his managerial career now, he's done that badly.

Only way he rehabs himself after this is taking on a coaching job as someone's number 2/number 3 and actually shows a capacity to learn from past mistakes. I suspect that he doesn't have the humility required to do this though and will wait till the next Championship or Premier League team pushes the "former great player = great manager" panic button.

In 63 games under Tuchel Chelsea lost 11 games. In the 27 since he left they've already lost 12 and will probably loose all remaining games aswell.

Its been a season of amazing self sabotage.

You’re right, thought it was Jamie Redknapp when the presenter was handing over to the commentary team. To be honest they all seem to say the same things and sing from the same hymn sheet.

    Allardyce in at Leeds.

£3m for 4 games work, if he keeps them up. Not bad work if you can get it

Robbie Keane supposedly joining as part of his backroom staff, and Karl Robinson to be his number two. They worked together at Blackburn before.

Imaging going from Bielsa to Allardyce in less than a year, bizarre stuff at t'Leeds.

this trend of sacking the guy you hired mid season to keep you up - I mean it's entertaining but it's also a sign that the game is becoming a circus and the end days are upon us.

3 teams are going down every season, regardless of who they buy or hire to manage them. If every team was impeccably run, with a clear footballing philosophy and every player on form and playing for the manager; 3 of them would still go down and their fans would be calling for the board to be sacked.

Looking at the table this morning, I think I worked out that only seven of the current 20 teams have managers who were there last season (in the PL, as Cooper and Silva both brought up their current teams, while Ten Haag was in place in gameweek 1).

And maybe its instructive that each of the top five have their manager in situ since the opening weekend (doubts surrounded Arteta after last season, pressure looked to be mounting on Klopp after that horrific run and surely Newcastle could have eyes on more high profile names). While two others, Brentford and Fulham, are punching above their weight all season. Moyes is virtually the only one holding on in dangerous territory but has been down this road before too.

    Can't beat some continuity.

Brighton, also having a great season, didn't fire Potter, but their due diligence in having a quality replacement in mind, has paid off well.

I rarely watch any analysis on Sky or BT, as frankly I can't stand the likes of Carragher, Neville, Owen, Jenas etc.

What have they been saying about Frank? I bet you very very little. They never like to slag their mates, or someone who is English. They save their vitriol for foreign managers.

Lamps should be getting ripped to bits on analysis.

It's probably just a month's wages + the £3m if Leeds stay up. That's actually a great deal for Leeds, as they'll more than make that money back.

The problem lies in if they do stay up and Sam wants the job long term. Then it can end up costing a long term contract, eventual sacking costs and possible relegation down the line. Sam is not a long term manager. He has averaged 27 games at his last 4 clubs.

I think they’ve been saying that the situation is a mess before Lampard came along and it’s not his doing. A fair point to a degree but Lampard certainly hasn’t helped matters at all, it’s gone from bad to worse with him.

I’m enjoying it immensely. They spent more than 600 million since the recent takeover on a team that finished 3rd the year before. It’s dodgy as hell and must be in contravention of the FFP rules even with the weird long contracts. When Pochetino comes in are they going to spend more again?

Also why is Pochetino stalling? He doesn’t want to take over at this stage of the season? Don’t think that’s a great sign. Pochetino was at PSG and couldn’t improve things for them either. Wouldn’t surprise me if he was gone within a year of taking over this summer if that happens.

I would have thought the same regarding Pochettino, but in retrospect, imagine he had taken over already and these performances were happening under him? Then he would getting slaughtered and would start next season already under serious pressure. A bad finish followed by a bad start means a manager sacked, so perhaps it is smart to stand back and wait for the summer.

I think most managers would get an immediate bounce affect out of players, especially the expensive quality players Chelsea have spent hundreds of millions on. Appointing Lampard just made things worse and confused the issue further. I find it strange that Pochettino didn't come in straight away.

Is it not just the ridiculous lengthy contracts that they're either on, or Boehly wants them to sign?

There's no fear to play if you have a ridiculous contract that will cost them a fortune if they want to get rid of you.

I see Allerdící has lost none of his bitterness at the fact we don't all hold him up there with the greats.

He probably thought when the phone rang it was Chelsea but turned out to be Leeds.

Definitely had a few too many pints of wine before that interview today.

City making hard work of it. De Bruyne really makes that team tick - West Ham doing well. It could be a very interesting second half if they could nick a goal.

A few City defenders should have been booked early on, might have aided the away side later in the game.

I read some of those quotes. He's either bitter, delusional or trolling. None of them are a good look.

I only heard him on the radio, didn't see the interview, but he sounded awful, like a half-cut chain smoker after 20 Major.

What he actually said was secondary, he didn't sound healthy at all
