    grealish makes it 4-1

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,249 ✭✭✭mobydopy

Great goal that , arguably Grealishs best performance in a City shirt

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 715 ✭✭✭Mac_Lad71

TAA just gave up on Grealish.

    Game over now.

He's having a great season. 7 or 8 out of 10 most games. If he could add more goals to the game he would be a top winger

And stop falling over so easily.

But he has moved up a level this season.

Liverpool need an entirely new midfield, a right back and a centre half. Which they won’t get. Just looking at Laporte on the bench there, once their main man at the back. But once he got hurt City were able to immediately replace him with another big money signing.

has TAA just given up trying to mark grealish?

    Fabinho's legs have completely gone.

Can barely walk never mind run.

    Another humping for Liverpool.

2nd half has been a training session for City. Embarrassing to watch.

Have any of those Liverpool subs touched it yet?

At what point are you allowed to ask questions about Klopp?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 164 ✭✭slumdogemillionaire

Always nice to see Liverpool get a dressing down, they were humiliated there. Now come on Spurs and get your act together and nail down 4th

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,155 ✭✭✭✭eh i dunno

It's a strange one alright. No criticism at all for him despite a huge drop in results and spending big money again on Darwin and gakpo. Having so many ex Liverpool players in the media helps

I asked the same question with work colleagues and was told I hadn't a clue about football if I was asking the question.

Thing is, I fully appreciate what he has done with the club over 7 years, but how long does that get you a by-ball for sh1t results and a sh1t season?

    One year?

    Two years?

    Is he unsackable?

Except he has been replaced by Akanji, a £15m pound signing which is a mere snip in todays market. He was injured, rumour is he wants out and akanji hasnt done a thing wrong which is the way it should be.

Klopp has enough credit in the bank and will be allowed a rebuild if he chooses to stay.

His tactical inflexibility is a major negative tho.

"I appreciate what he's done over seven good years but should he be sacked for one bad season"

That is a question asked by someone who knows nothing about football.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,452 ✭✭✭✭NIMAN

I didn't say he should be sacked this season.

I did ask when is it OK to question him?

    This season? Next season?

And would be ever be sackable? What if next season was like this season? Could he be sacked then?

He has taken a team going for a quadruple last season to an absolute shambles this season. But seems to be above criticism.

I don’t think it’s as simple as “well one or two poor seasons means another manager will do better”. I find this modern day manager sack race quite tiresome. Whatever happened to giving managers time to rebuild teams?

I am not suggesting you are saying this but it’s so easy for players or managers to be written off months or a year or two after major success. Sometimes a manager does need to be replaced but I’m not sure Klopp would be anywhere near that bracket.

As a United fan , I’d be delighted for them to sack Klopp. He’s been superb and I’d be more concerned they stick with him and allow him to properly reshape the team then get in a lessor manager (any manager who replaces him will not be as good) who may get some bounce but won’t get the same success. Klopp and Liverpool are kind of perfect for each other. He seems to thrive as an under dog and once he gets a decent dressingroom he makes them better by default.

Im obviously not a Pool fan so don’t watch them at all, but I am a Klopp fan and if ETH wasn’t at United I’d take him in a heartbeat.

Yes, there would be a time when it's acceptable to question and possibly sack him, it's not a linear time line and it's definitely not after one bad season.

Barring a complete refusal to buy any new players, or relegation, I don't see a scenario where klopp doesn't see out his contract.

Arsenal now have 10 finals , they need to win today or squeaky bum time will be truly engaged.

Thats his defending style in a nutshell.

Why can't someone else do it.

He got away with it for years but not anymore.

Brighton and Brentford seems like an absolute cracker

Did Jesus spend his time out working on his tatoos? Or did he always have them?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 715 ✭✭✭Mac_Lad71

Leeds playing well but gave away a stupid penalty.

Arsenal v good on the counter.

that must go back to the midfield though, or potentially the other defenders. i mean if he was at the same the last number of years it certainly wasn't an issue.

salah always played in front of him, so maybe salah not tracking back as much? TBH, i dont know if salah ever did that. maybe just henderson getting on in years.

buts its mad that a CM that helps cover RB is so pivotal, and when that aint working wave after wave just comes down that flank.

doesnt explain though the gundogan goal. TAA just stepped off him and essentially passed to gundogan for a tap in, or that gralish volley towards the end. TAA just didnt bother picking him up. is that something someone else used do?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,129 ✭✭✭✭Oranage2

If Ranieri can be sacked after winning then so can Klopp. I don't think his heart is in the Liverpool project anymore. He needs a total new rebuild and I don't think they'll get the money

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,674 ✭✭✭doc_17

No, Laporte got the injury in 2019/20 season and Dias was signed in the following summer transfer window in 2020 for €70m. Akanji was signed in 2022.

Well maybe at least a full season after he was 2 games away from winning the quadruple! Only a moron would get rid of Klopp.
