I have to say its farcical that Klopp has been banned, but nothing has happened to either Pep or Bernardo Silva.

Pep behaved worse than Klopp did when they went to VAR to look at the Man City "goal".

Klopp only went nuts because of what Bernardo Silva did to Salah, that went unpunished.

The FA launched a new 'Enough Is Enough’ campaign in September aimed at stamping out abuse of all kinds at all levels of the game.

It is understood the FA feels elite-level managers have an example to set to the grassroots game in terms of what is acceptable behaviour.

The FA have decided that they will only look through one eye to decide what's acceptable to them or not.

I challenge anyone to look at Pep's behaviour throughout that game and say that Klopp's was worse.

I think Klopp getting a ban is fine, as he did cross the line.

But it's only fine if this becomes the norm now and more bans are handed out. As you said, Pep was at it aswell. And does be at it a good bit too. Even post game, he was suggesting that the referee made decisions, or VAR made decisions, because the game was being played in Anfield.

If it's a once off and only Klopp is banned, then it feels a bit more of a 'pick & choose' ban.

Bielsa in talks with Bournemouth, always liked the football he played at Leeds and elsewhere, be a welcome return after tomorrow.

Oh the FA will usually pick the highest profile and most popular coach/club to make examples of, even I like Klopp and I really shouldn’t !!!

While SAF and United were no angels, the FA loved to use them as an example to others.

So many hypocritical and selective punishments that United got but others got away with, generally rivals don’t care because let’s be honest it’s not easy being impartial.

One that always sticks out was England captain Alan shearer volleying the head of Neil Lennon and getting nothing. he whinged and moaned , threatened to not play for England and the ref and Lennon spoke on his Behalf, both probably worried about the backlash if shearer actually wouldn’t play for England!

He also had a red card for elbowing somebody rescinded and the ref even admitted fault , how often has that happened?

Fa has always been a bit xenophobic to be fair, if Johnny Foreigner (imagine this was Di Canio or Roy Keane or cantona ) did above they’d prob get 5 game plus ban if they were lucky.

Klopp deserved his ban and fine, Utd have been deservedly charged twice for there players behavior on the pitch surrounding the referees.

City players and Pep seem to have the freedom to do this every week with no consequences whatsoever, now the FA need to start to punish City and there manager for there behaviors on the pitch and on the sideline.

Ha, I barely write a post about the hypocrisy of English fa and football focus has a piece on the World Cup and damning the human rights abuses. Then less then a few mins later they show Haaland warming up for city and talk all glowing about Newcastles rise with Eddie Howe, completely ignoring the elephant in the room with the owners.

Completely tone deaf and blind to its own sportswashing premier league. FIFA are not the only corrupt morons in football, everybody loves pointing fingers at others and do nothing to sweep their own side of the road.

KDB clearly dived there why isn't he being carded.

Man City are horrible to watch at times, surrounding the ref with such a sense of entitlement.

Nice football, but not so much with other traits.

Laporte sure didn’t dive anyway. Grappled to the ground.

I love that the BT co commentator said there isn't enough in the De Bruyne incident to give a penalty. Indeed there isn't, as it was another blatant dive by De Bruyne for the second week running. You really have to laugh at how normalized this bullsh*t is at this stage.

The very first thing VAR should have been brought in for was diving, feigning injury etc. Now there are obviously some grey areas in that, but when a player clearly dives with zero contact, VAR should be able to intervene and issue a yellow card (this should imo be changed in future to bans post match or something like 10-20 sin bin during the game, or both even). No risk reward issues here for players to constantly cheat now, De Bruyne on fire recently with the cheating.

Utd have been charged twice this season for doing that yet City do it week in week out and the FA do sweet FA about it when it comes to City.

This was probably a penalty. Don't think the rest were. The handball on the edge of the box wasn't obvious

Another City player dives and nothing is do about it once VAR say it isn't a penalty.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 61,272 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

About time a City player got booked for diving.

Every single city attack looking for Haaland. Losing it 90% of the time.

I remember that Shearer thing alright, scandalous! I know it's the title of the YouTube clip, but the joke at the time was true. It's as if Lennon was actually the party at fault.

Was it the start of last season, or the previous one, where Harry Kane was doing his nudge when challenging for headers that was putting others at serious risk if injury? Nothing happened. He should have been sent off last year against Liverpool for a dangerous tackle but escaped it. The English players definitely get some protection from the referees and those in charge. The referees probably have an unconscious bias, but the 'panel' or whatever it's called definitely have one.

Whether we like it or not, everybody has some sort of bias in every game. When is the last time anybody sat down to watch a game in any sport and not pick a team they wanted to win. It's near impossible to be fully impartial. This has to be in the mind if referees when it comes to the English players too, and subsequently clubs. Referees will unconsciously have nationality, club, managers comments etc in the back of their head when making decisions.

I'm going on a bit of a tangent here but there was a good comment made before the Liverpool - Man City game this season when the referee from Manchester was appointed. Now I'm not going to go into conspiracy theory stuff but that is putting the referee in a horrible situation. He can't be 100% impartial purely because he is going to have in the back of his head things like 'my brother in law is a Man City fan, he's gonna be texting me later', 'I'm gonna get dogs abuse in Tesco tomorrow for giving that penalty' etc. Subconscious thoughts that can have a domino affect during a game, or season. We've often seen a situation where a manager has said that they are not getting penalties for example and 2 games later, his team gets a soft one. The referee will have had that comment in his head.

That's on field rushed thinking and you can sometimes feel a bit sorry for referees as they have to make it on the spot.

It's when there is a panel of people that have time to make an informed decision and then somehow still make a stupid choice, or one full of bias, that you get really annoyed by.

Poor old Pep prob deserves another 250 million to refurbish this team. He’s such a hard job and greatest Manager in the history of the sport. Forget the fact he’s had the most resources to spend and the pick of the best players in the world , hes just the best cause he’s won stuff at clubs that win before and after he leaves…

Season actually couldn’t stop at a better time for city the way they look.
