Personal injury - Court Costs

    I was speaking to someone from Aon claims management on behalf of a relative who was injured and Aon was acting on behalf of the retailer where the incident occured.

    Aon were making a settlement offer and the claims manager mentioned to me that if this progressed beyond PIAB that either;

    If the judgement made in court was less than the piab offer or

    The offer Aon would put before the court was equal to or great than the final court judgement amount (the main amount as this would likely be greater than the piab amount).

    my relative would be liable for all costs.

    I'm wondering if this is true as the claims manager pushed very hard to switch from email to phone correspondence which made me very wary before speaking to him.
