Are there any public parks in Limerick that have pitches that are free to play on? My team will be there next week and are looking for a place to train.

No.There are no public parks - i.e owned and run by the local authority- that have football pitches or even allow ball kicking on the grass. If you contact some of the bigger local junior soccer clubs like Aisling/Annacotty or Mungret Regional you may be able to avail of their training pitches free of charge. It is the off-season period now.

dont they play soccer matches in shelbourne park?

the goals aren’t set up permanently but you could pick up a set of bollards in local sports store if it was just a friendly kick about.

Again, it's a council owned and run amenity so permission may be required. I know Shelbourne FC used the pitches there but it is moving to the old LPYMA ground on the Ennis Road.
