Using laser measure

Did you smash it

Bought one, didn’t use one before. Can it be used to measure the distance between two points on a wall or just used to measure where you stand to the wall you put the laser point on?

i havnt seen one that cant go between 2 points .

great tool. i use mine all the time doing skirting boards

he says several times about choosing to reference off the front or back of the tool. thats so you ca put it against something and measure from there

Ok, but I thought you could measure any two points against each other. Like if you are buying curtains I can measure the area of the window frame by the edge surfaces. But I need to manually add on the extra space above the frame for the curtain hanger. It’s my fault for not doing my own research.

It's perfect for measuring the window the curtains will go over, regular tape measure then for curtain rail to ceiling distance or how much wider you want them to go.

If you need to get a measurement to some arbitrary point on a wall you can stick something there to act as a target for the laser. Sticky notes or some tape.

Those laser measures are so handy. I took the chance on a €20 one wondering if I'd be disappointed it wasn't as accurate as some fancy-pants Bosch one. But it's been excellent and regularly puts a smile on my face using it.
