Hi any recommendations for bicycle service / repair in or around the Sligo area, I have nothing against Gary Cycles who are generally excellent to deal with but just looking for alternatives or the back street mechanic option rather than a main dealer.

Can't really help other than to say that I'd be reluctant to bring anything other than a wheelbarrow to either of the bike shops in Sligo town.
I'd encourage you to attempt most jobs yourself. Basic bike tool kit bought online and the University of YouTube and you'll be good.
