Sure, aren't we all paying for some little perk that others get.....

Child Benefit, HAP, Disability Home Grants, insulation Grants, PV Grants, etc etc

    True of course.

I don't think my employer would have made the conscious decision of "we are now allowing a few people to charge their cars for free, we must stick a few cent extra on our product". As I said, they are a billion dollar multi-national so I'm guessing simply absorb this miniscule increase in their electricity costs for their green credentials.

Or they could just take it out if their CSR Budget

I'll be honest, I had to look that up.

    But probably correct.

Have a Nissan Leaf, in May travelled 1734.8km, with a usage of.15kWh/kn and consumed 259.1kwH. The charger at home reported a charge of 386.42kwH for the month of May and a cost of €44.16. We had no external charging in May. The leaf is a 2017 model with a 3.8kw charger, if we had the newer 7.6kw charger the cost would be a good bit less.

Given an approx fuel usage for an ICE car of 6l/100km that would be 6x17.348 litres at approx 2eur per litre is €208 so a saving of roughly 160 eur for the month on fuel.

That's a big discrepancy between the reported and actual consumption, +42% compared to what the car reports. Wonder if that's typical? What kind of meter are you using at the charger end to report the consumption?

Why would the consumption be less with a 6.6 kW charger instead of your current 3.3 kW one (Nissan's spec for the two charger types)? I actually expect that the 6.6 charging would be a bit less efficient as those models have two standalone 3.3 kW charger modules and both would experience charging losses.

There is an efficiency drop between kw/h used by charger and amount delivered to car. But yes, that is on the high side and I need to investigate. The charge is reported by Zappi charger and the Nissan EV app .

I have a unit rate of 8c between 2am and 4am but my charging limit with the 3.3kw in car means I tend to run over to the night rate of 14.8 most nights, wheresa if I had a newer leaf with the 6.6kw charger I would get most of the charging done during the lowest rate. See below chart for a few of the days, green is cheapest, red is daytime rate & yellow is night rate. Column 4 is kw/h & column 5 is the euro cost before discount & VAT.
